Pretty anonymous, didn't drop any clangers but didn't really add anything. Looked like he may have been played out of position
He made some good off the ball runs , if I remember from his highlights reel he was mostly on the left , English football is more physical and high tempo than hes probably used to , lad has good ball control.
Few more months and I think we'll have a player.

For those that watched - How did Jefferson do?
unfortunately I missed first 10 mins of 2nd half but it seemed like he was played in CM and struggled to get many touches.

Not sure why he didn't get a run out LW which is where I thought he was strongest (and played there for last club and U21s) - i'm assuming he isn't ready and we wanted to see Cannon and One play there?

Davies and Shackleton injured in training and out for 4 to 6 weeks. And so it starts again with these two, will they ever be fit.
No , no and thrice no.

I love Selles for one of many positive statements already made :

"NO CROCKS"

If he's as good as his word , he'll do for me.

Nope, just not jumping on bandwagons just yet. Let’s see how it goes and then get the flags out.
I don’t think anyone’s saying we’re going to piss the league after last night. But as a first glimpse of the work in progress that is the adaptation to Selles’s style it was undeniably positive. And in sharp contrast to how we played against the same opposition a year ago.

It might not surprise you but it would kill any chance of success.
We are short of an experienced CB who is a commanding defensive leader , a Souttar type.
None of those 4 is anything like up to the job and if Selles can't see that he's heading for a disaster.
Even after finally getting a replacement for Souttar - perhaps 9 months too late , I would still like another CB.
Robbo & RND should be shipped out yesterday.
It is only the Wilder effect which allowed Robbo to remain - disgusting manipulation of the situation , waiting till the end of the January window to bring in an unfit Holding and then choosing not to play him when he finally did get fit.
in his post match interview Selles said he's hoping to sign a player that can play RB/RCB

That'll be Polendakov then!
Think he likes to play with an inverted right back
One who basically slots in as a third centre half when in possession and a right back out of it ( situation dependant of course ) for me choudury would be ideal for this role and it's similar to how wilder started the season with gilchrist in there

Does anyone know if any other clubs have played a preseason friendly anywhere near York, perhaps with some form of video of the pre-match crowds?
or anyone with a Ring doorbell in York near the ground ?

Anyone know if Baptiste had an injury or just wasn't considered. Signed a new contract so we must want to keep him around, was surprised not to see him.

There was a video of him training at Shirecliffe with Sachdev while the rest of the squad were in Girona so guessing he’s in recovery and not ‘back on the grass’ yet.

At last we can agree 👍 Hope it continues.

I know its a bit early but I think top 6 is on the cards , the next 3/4 incoming players will decide for me if top 2 is on ??
Its very early in the window yet though.

It's similar to how we ended the season with Choudhury making up the three and Burrows bombing on on the other flank. Last night, in the first half we had both wing backs bombing on. Second half we had Sasnauskas at right back in the third centre back role. He's either trying out two slightly different systems or just utilising the players he has available. His after match comments would suggest the former and Polendakov, from the little we know about him, would fit the bill.

Just got my York tickets through the post, only taken 10 days. Don't you just love Royal Mail? About time e tickets became the norm.
