Rammers n Berge = 40 mill or thereaboutsUnfortunately too many blades thought the same too, glad the majority took time to see the bigger picture stuck with him and we have one of the best in the championship next season
Brooks money, sell on clause discount, appearance money, survival money. I expect that the deal might have a cap at £18m ish but no one really knows.
We didn’t pay 18 million either
Who's 'Ramners'?Hi Stegosaurus here
The thread that inspired Ramners to improve. Hope he thanks me in an interview.
Because the Bournemouth CEO gave us the transfer fee. £13.5m, which is £18m gross less a 25% sell on. There may be add-ons above that (and one of those is probably related to an international appearance) but even still we won't pay Bournemouth anywhere near £22m.I don't know why everyone loves to pretend we didn't. The Prince confirmed that Ramsdale would have beaten our record signing of Berge at £22m if it were not for the sell-on clause discount.

Nope. The fee was circa £22/23m, less the 25% sell on fee = £18/19m. The Prince told us this. Wilder told us this. The only person that didn't was James Shield.
Bumping the Ramsdale thread...in the article on the Bournemouth website about the release of their (horrendous) accounts the Chief Executive (Neill Blake) commented that “After the year end, the club sold three players for a profit of £50.8 million". Those three players are Nathan Aké (bought for £20m, sold for £41m), Callum Wilson (bought for £3m, sold for £20m) and Aaron Ramsdale. Given that they bought Ramsdale for somewhere between £800k and £1m and by a process of elimination made a profit of £12.8m* that puts the price we paid at between £13.6 and £13.8m. Nowhere near £18.5m.
*£50.8m less £21m profit on Aké and £17m profit on Wilson. He can't be talking accounting profit as the residual value of Aké and Wilson mean that they'd have cleared £52m profit from those deals alone.
It wasn’t.Nope. The fee was circa £22/23m, less the 25% sell on fee = £18/19m. The Prince told us this. Wilder told us this. The only person that didn't was James Shield.
Really hope he stays though as if we can start the season with Rammers, Bash, Egan and a returning JOC, we WILL return to a team that concedes very few goals and the old adage is always valid - don't concede, then you don't lose.
UTB
Scouts have been watching him regularly for two years now, and United could have already cashed in. I know Spurs, Norwich and Man City have also had scouts watching him quite regularly. Its a strange one, you don't see many number ones at his age and that status might be what is required to keep him at the Lane.Of course we have a very solid, more experienced keeper in Moore who'll take some displacing. Ramsdale''s an outstanding young goalkeeper -.Is there anyone better than him, at his age, in the whole country?
Probably the best we could've hoped for given the contractual situation. Just got to hope the clauses are all in order: sell on, PL appearances, England youth caps, England senior caps. This kid has the potential to go further than any Blades youth keeper I've seen. Lets hope the club learns from this situation and gets the good ones tied down. Sell when they have two or three years left, if needs must.
VENTU
Great post. People should also know that many of the facilities are regularly used by the first team too, yet partly subsidised by grants for academy purposes. We would have to invest in a single purpose facility without the grants if we abolished Shirecliffe/adapted its purpose.I've been told that the running costs are around two million but only around half come from club coffers. In a bumper sales year DCL, Che, Ramsdale, the academy has more than paid for itself. If we get significant add ons for said players ( personallyvery optimistic re DL, Ramsdale) it would pay for the academy for many years to come.
I watch the U18 and U23s regular and have been tipping Ramsdale and DCL for the PL for years. I think Ramsdale would've been on a lot less than the figures you quote at United, but would have wanted a senior players wage to consider signing again.. We couldn't have stood in his way (or indeed any young players) but we could have strengthened our negotiating position. Its about realising value so we can improve our own position - I don't think we have with this transfer.. Ultimately any young player that you think has Pl potential has to be signed to a long deal because the potential upside is huge when compared to the negligible cost. Anybody who watched Rambo knew within a few months that he was destined for bigger things, its inconceivable that we have somehow arrived at this situation.
Wilder also said we didn’t pay anything like what was being quoted. The Captain has an issue with Rammers and continually has a pop at any goal he lets in. Apparently he dives weird and makes himself small as well.this is a quote given at the time Bournemouth's accounts were released. Do you think that if we'd paid £22m+ Bournemouth would have underplayed it? They'd just announced a £60m loss, they needed all the good news they could get.
Do you have anything empirical or just "Wilder/the Prince told us this"? Your maths is out too: £22m less 25% is £16.5m. £23m less 25% is £17.25m.
It wasn't £23m, and it can't reach £23m. Even if we didn't knock off the sell on. Sdon't listen to the Captain. I think Rammers might have tried to shag his mrs.Wild

He’s just doubling down now Aaron’s got through his really difficult start and he’ll continue to snipe no matter what happens. I’m just surprised he’s not claiming it was £23M.
The other point often ignored and one I’ve continually made is he’s just 23. He’s got 75 Premier league appearances under his belt at the toughest clubs. There isn’t another English keeper with that at his age, Henderson has 49 and is over a year older and has consistently played behind better defences.Theres some negative Neville’s on here int there?
A Sheffield United player is in an England squad at a major tournament for the first time since 1962. And deservedly so I might add.
I’m delighted for him.
