For 18.5m he has been shite though.
Next you'll be suggesting we could have signed an equally good, if not better, keeper for far less and spent the money on other positions, or even wages. He's worth the extra money though cos "HeS a BlAdE aNd hEs YoUnG 🤪"

Jack, you're just putting up inconsequential arguments now which would be better left unposted because they do nothing to help the Club or our Goalkeeper.
You can see from here you are in a minority and getting lonelier by the minute. Rammers is doing pretty well I think and I've seen loads of keepers come and go at the Lane right back to Jack Smith. ( Yeah, ask your Dad.) I've also played at a good Amateur level and I would be happy with Rammers in any side I played for or supported so just leave it now. WE CAN DO WITHOUT ATTACKS ON INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS WHO ARE TRYING THEIR BEST. Have ago at some who are not putting a shift in.

Bumping the Ramsdale thread...in the article on the Bournemouth website about the release of their (horrendous) accounts the Chief Executive (Neill Blake) commented that “After the year end, the club sold three players for a profit of £50.8 million". Those three players are Nathan Aké (bought for £20m, sold for £41m), Callum Wilson (bought for £3m, sold for £20m) and Aaron Ramsdale. Given that they bought Ramsdale for somewhere between £800k and £1m and by a process of elimination made a profit of £12.8m* that puts the price we paid at between £13.6 and £13.8m. Nowhere near £18.5m.

*£50.8m less £21m profit on Aké and £17m profit on Wilson. He can't be talking accounting profit as the residual value of Aké and Wilson mean that they'd have cleared £52m profit from those deals alone.

" Unteraching" ? Didn't they have a season in the Bundesliga a few years ago ? Remember a few of their fans being interviewed on telly.

If the add-ons included staying up and clean sheets we've had their pants down

Yeah I think so. A quick google search tells me they got promoted against all the odds in 1998/99 and continued to confound all expectations in 1999/00 by finishing 10th. They then had an awful start to the following season and ended up relegated. Sound familiar? They're now bottom of the third tier and about to go back into the regional fourth tier. The link is that we went to a game on my stag to a cracking 3-3 draw vs Energie Cottbus.

IdLiketoRogerMoore knows them too - to my knowledge they're the only bobsleigh and football club in the world.

Totally. Christoph Langen is their most famous bobsleigh alumni. He was the German Team Coach when I was on the circuit.

Didn't Ralph Hussentall of Southampton fame coach there too?

Bournemouth’s accounts out. Looks like Rammers was around £13M not the £18M which is constantly banded about. Who knew?

Edit: sorry Balham Blade saw they’d been released and did the same as you. Ref the accounting profit query, I wondered if what we were owed for Brooks made up the difference, bringing down what we actually paid in hard cash even further.

100%. But only from a cashflow perspective. If they owed us the final 30% (£3.5m, near enough) and we agreed to pay the £13m for Ramsdale over four instalments then we might have just netted the first payment out (£3.75m) against the Brooks debt meaning we'd only have sent them £250k. We'd both still recognise the full £13.5m for Ramsdale in the P&L.

Brewster will be 18m as well when we are relegated

it was never 18m was it bob they probably still owed us 5m on the brooks deal and despite all the criticism on here for rammy 13m for an england u23 keeper is still good business imo mind i am slightly biased always rated him from seeing him in the u18s at shirecliffe

I have a mate who supports AFC Wimbledon, every time I mention ramsdale he straight away says that he single handedly kept them up a few years ago, he will be a huge asset to our club

yeah he has made mistakes this season and had fans on his back but seems to be gaining more confidence as the season progresses we just need another keeper in this summer who is going to push him all the way for the first team spot

Oh I was well aware from the start, and totally understood why the Bournemouth based press would put out the maximum figures as they were selling their player of the year. I also get why our board would use that figure when showing how they've backed the manager, but our local press always questioned the figure and plenty of our fans used it as a stick to beat him with.
£13M is a good price and will prove to be a bargain. I just hope we keep hold of him, as the longer he stays the more value it returns, but if not we'd sell him for much more than we paid.

Oh, and he's 22, so like Brewster his potential is huge for us, and with the mental toughness he's shown us already he got everything he needs to become one of the top keepers in the country.

ramsdale and brewster will probably be seen as wilders legacy i think and both will be big players for us next season imo along with bogle and lowe who i havent given up on yet we just need to get this midfield sorted with 3 good quality championship players to come in

Me too mate, I still hold out hope for Lowe and still believe in our formation an upping of delivery from the wingbacks is a major area for improvement from our creativity. .....along with having a midfield of course.

if we persist with wingbacks im hoping the new manager goes 343 next season and although im not a mcburnie fan do think him and brewster will be better suited to that system

Yeah I agree he is coming along slowly and he didnt hit any of those stupid long balls that go out for a throwing. Noticed his distribution was better in U21's product of different goalkeeper training perhaps with the U21's ?

I have a lot of respect for Rammers. Let’s be honest, he was terrible at the start of the season and was letting in goals left, right and centre. His confidence looked shot and I really felt that he needed to be dropped for his own good. 2 months later and he has been the best player on the pitch for probably the past 6-8 games. He has shown huge mental strength and is making top saves every game and looks a completely different player

Also the ignore button works wonders in this thread. 😁
