Well we have taken a stance, done to prompt a response from our classless neighbours perchance?

Sheffield United today issued an immediate ban on a Blades fan who was identified making vitriolic statements on social media. The club condemns all forms of abuse on any online platform & will act quickly to identify those responsible. Read More ➡️ www.sufc.co.uk/news/201… pic.twitter.com/ZvCSN7Q…

Do your employers intend to make an issue out of this as they should be doing or are they shit scared to rattle any cages?
Serious question.
I would be extremely interested to see your answer/ opinion remembering of course..."All views my own".
What 'issue' would you like to be taken, out of interest? Organising a firing squad, maybe?

That was my first thought, or perhaps it was a Blade who had a go at the idiot who said that about Luey, in rather forthright terms. I reckon it's connected one way or another.

He's obviously asking if you and/or your employer would push this point with SWFC or would you leave it to them?

Simple question Danny, no need for the flippant responses, wearing a bit thin now.

Bill's reputation goes before him, so he's either on the sauce, or he's angry about summat or other. Always knows what others should do does our Bill, they broke the cast when Bill was born so best to pay attention as he's a one off and won't be repeated.

Except he wasn’t, hence the pointed references to being ‘shit scared’. Obviously hasn’t read the story we did on it either which clearly states both clubs have been approached for comment.
FWIW, ‘Danny have you asked Wednesday for a comment?’ would have elicited a more straightforward response. If flippant responses to pointed, passive-aggressive questions offend you, there’s always a useful ignore function.

I think it is wrong to make this about Wednesday and to build up an outrage based on what we think they should do about him. Their fans are clearly disgusted with him and that should be enough for us. If their club doesn't take strong enough action, it should be their fans that are outraged at the shame of it.

I wasn't asking you personally to do anything. You need to 're read my post. I was asking if your employer was going to push it and asked you for your opinion on that. You are uber sensitive which I can understand to an extent but it was asked at face value and nowhere had a dig at you.

You're getting seriously close to being reported. I know you think you're the dogs but you really aren't.
I could take your childish accusations and insinuations about alcohol abuse further and will if there is one more instance.

Yes he was, "do your employers intend to make an issue out of this" is a question is it not? He may have used the comment "shit scared" (which obviously irritated you, but there again you appear to be easily irritated) but he did qualify that it was a "serious question"....

Flippant responses don't bother me at all pal, I just didn't think there was any need.....rise above it....you have a book to sell... ;-)

Mildly disguised threats uh? Wondered how long that would take. Seems to fit the psychological make-up, on a par with Angry of Tonbridge Wells or the extreme wing of the Provisional UKIP member's section. Seems a classic case of 'can give it out' but melts at the first sign of someone returning in spades. ;)

Genuine question, what would you like to see happen?

As I say, the insinuation that anyone is too scared to ask a question didn’t seem called for. Regardless of whether it’s accompanied by a meaningless qualifier. You’re right on your last point though... :)

I don't know what has been said here but I'm a bit uneasy about all this. We live in a free society and enjoy freedom of expression that some places on the planet can only dream of. Putting up with 'vitriolic' comments is a pretty small price to pay for that privilege if you ask me.

I'm hearing a Rumour from my sources that the SUFC fan banned for vitriol on Social Media is one of the posters on this thread who have incited or threatened physical violence - broken nose, face stoved in, legs broken, etc. As any sensible poster would, I've reviewed my own contributions. I'm comfortable that I've consistently said - I want no harm to come to anyone. I can understand why SUFC would want to ban Forum Social Media Posters who have incited actual violence to a named living person.
And, of course, when I say I'm hearing a Rumour, I mean starting one.

There's a grey area that surrounds the notion of free speech. Generally I'd support anyone's right to contribute intelligently, but what if certain lines are crossed, let's say the announcement that the BNP intended to march through an area that was heavily populated by a wide variety of groups from other countries? The intention being a clear incitement to cause unrest, even violence, is that worth supporting?

Personally, I think there are a few areas that should stand up to scrutiny, and if they fail to pass muster then they need to be railed in.

I think a follow up story is warranted about the social media reaction and the silence from swfc when other clubs condemn and ban these scumbags for similar behaviour, you know how the football community comes together normally and shows solidarity when faced with racism and hate crimes... and here, there’s silence..

Take note of the way chesterfield council swiftly condemned the member of the public and appealed for information with Deon Dublin, I make the comparison because what happened to sharp was nothing he could change, like the colour of your skin, and the scumbags that pick on you for that need condemnation..

You shouldn’t be picked on for suffering tragedy, and never for your colour or race, we can’t allow this to be swept under the carpet because it will encourage other vile creatures to think there aren’t consequences..

The only thing I can find on the issue on the nigh impossible to access Star online is a one line that the paper has asked the pig's for a comment and are still waiting.
There's a very good article on the topic by one of your colleagues which stops short of associating him with the club. I genuinely think the club has a responsibility in this matter and the star should basically state that and force them to confront it. I'd feel the same if one of our lot had said such vile things but I think we'd be proactive and not hope it all goes away as is a reasonable assumption where the pig's are concerned on this.
