Pig scum mocking Luey Sharp.

The only thing I can find on the issue on the nigh impossible to access Star online is a one line that the paper has asked the pig's for a comment and are still waiting.
There's a very good article on the topic by one of your colleagues which stops short of associating him with the club. I genuinely think the club has a responsibility in this matter and the star should basically state that and force them to confront it. I'd feel the same if one of our lot had said such vile things but I think we'd be proactive and not hope it all goes away as is a reasonable assumption where the pig's are concerned on this.
The ‘one line’ is at the bottom of a story on the matter I wrote personally so it’s wrong to suggest that’s all there is on the matter isn’t it?

This is a bit like pulling teeth mate.
I clearly said all I could find along with nigh on impossible to access website.
Stick a link up and I'll be happy to read it.
You haven't addressed any of my response though ie what I think should be done.

What 'issue' would you like to be taken, out of interest? Organising a firing squad, maybe?
Ooh, this sounds good. But who will you get to do the shooting? Don’t get Steve Simmonsen in the firing squad, he will probably hit a passing satellite. Jordan Rhodes will want his rifle loading with blanks, and Jose Baxter will probably have snorted all the gunpowder anyway.

So I'm a bit behind here.
Danny are you directly employed by the star or do they just use articles you write freelance?

Apparently what was said . Very harsh if you ask me

That was doing the rounds years ago when Matthew Harding died in similar circumstances. No social media in 1996.

First thing I said to the Mrs when I saw about the incident was that it wouldn’t be long before the Matthew Harding joke was recycled.

If there wasn’t currently pressure on the pigs to ban the lad for his comments about Billy, I’m not sure this fella would have been banned for this.
Unacceptable comments to make, but also unfortunate timing as we’ve probably used it as an excuse to show we’re willing to take a stand on online comments whereas the other lot aren’t.

Yes. The mans only been dead a few days leaving a wife and kids. Very harsh indeed.

Yes but how is this different from making a joke about anything else ? Jimmy savile ? Maddy mccan?

If we banned every person who made an insensitive joke we’d have about 15 thousand fans .

If he’s actually been banned for that it’s a joke and the club should be ashamed of themselves this isn’t North Korea

If he was thrown in prison for the joke then the North Korea analogy may hold weight, he hasn't so it doesn't. The club haven't actively sought to track down the content of this man's private conversations, he's posted it on the club's social media for the world to see and the club have decided to refuse his custom as a result, which they have every right to do.

This isn't the club suddenly turning into the sick joke police and tapping people's phones with the intention of cleansing the support base of anybody who's made an edgy comment in private...but I'm sure you already knew that.

Just like the Pig fan at the weekend tweeting about Billy Sharp and Chris Wilder's families I've no sympathy for them having to find other ways to occupy themselves at 3pm on a Saturday.

The guys made a misguided joke which isn’t really that offensive of your not a snowflake it is nothing compared to abusing someone about there child passing away how can anyone say there similar is beyond me.

Also Facebook isn’t a public forum if I post something on my profile it is for my friends or followers not every person.

Really think he’s been banned cause of what the pig fan has done to try and take the high ground over Wednesday

Lets hope the Leicester City chairman's family aren't "snowflakes" (whatever that means) and can see the funny side of their dad's horrific death just a few days ago. Likewise the fans and ex-players who were in bits at the weekend will have a bloody good laugh see it as just a bit of harmless fun from their pals in sport at SUFC.

Facebook is a public forum as all content is easily shareable. If you put comments on the page of a well supported football team you should do in the expectation that somebody will read them.

Derby did the decent thing banning the twat who was abusing Billy Sharp and we are acting in kind out of basic decency to protect the club's good name. It would be hypocritical to do otherwise and I'm amazed you think this internet comedian is somehow the real victim here.

Not particularly difficult, is it?

A snowflake is someone so fragile and delicate that they are offended/ upset by the most minor of comments.
Don’t wish to be argumentative but don’t think it’s quite as simple as that.

Feel really uncomfortable that a club or any organisation might be scouring Facebook and Twitter.
And if there are what considered offensive comments then that person might receive a life ban.
What might be offensive to one person is not offensive to others, then there’s always the bad taste joke factor. Comedy has been used many times in taboos areas. For example I’ve seen it said that the Wednesday manager bares a resemblance to Adolf Hitler, some would find that offensive where as other aren’t bothered. Surely a warning or temporary ban would be more appropriate.

Actually I’ve just read you post and it seems the post was on a Sheffield United page. So that’s stupidity, can’t blame the club.
There really needs to be some compulsory education at schools etc, do they still have that lesson called General Studies, they should teach sex education, personal budgeting, dangers of gambling/ drinking, relationships/ assertiveness and also the dangers (taking responsibility) of social media etc should be taught. Some people struggle with common decency, but I suppose they might not have an adequate family network.

I would generally agree that (some) people take offence too easily, although on the other hand I don't see why anyone should have to put up with direct insults. It's people reading insults into comments that I find over the top, looking for offence. Objecting to be likened to Hitler, I think, is reasonable enough. Why should anyone have to put up with that? Though that's on a different level to the couple of incidents being discussed here.
People forget that social media is putting these things in to print. Too many people think it's just the same as talking to their mates down the pub, it isn't and it's time people realised that.
(I also don't think the club is scouring anything, they will have been notified of it by someone.)
