There comes a point when you are just too far out to swim back. Since the cataclysmic appointment of Robson we have listened, waited, acknowledged that better days were just around the corner and basically been force fed junk. A succession of strategic blunders at Board level over a sustained period has been clumsily and unconvincingly covered by a combination of half truths, empty rhetoric and total bullshit. On top of that we have endured some of the worst footballing displays I have ever seen in 45 years of supporting the Blades.
We are about to drop into the bottom 3 of the third division. Not through bad luck, but through just rubbish, insipid clueless management over a sustained period.
Saudi millions just around the corner? Premiership football just a few seasons away? Seen it, heard it and don't believe it any more.
Not waving but drowning.
