Shit....and I've just been out to the shops for my dinner!!! Hang on, I can spot a tea towel, the Tarzan look is still in fasion yeh?? :confused:
 
hmm, why would it be announced if this was the case?, either they are filling in to keep the excitement going, or they lied in the first place.
 
Warnock is waiting to see if the player will speak to us, looks like whichever club mystery x player plays for has agreed a deal. Just need player terms sorting. Check news on sufc.co.uk
 
Yeah, it also says that some offers have been made for Blades players but he isn't bothered about selling until we have our mystery striker at the club.

I hope so mate, I really hope so.

In all honesty, in my opinion, Akinbadboy, Chris Brown, Todorov and all the others we have been linked to, come no where near as good as Mellor.

If we get him we will be serious top 2 contenders, as you have seen by previous seasons, you need a good strike force to get into the Prem. And Mellor is a serious Prem quality player.
 
Neil Mellor

Can't say I know a great deal about him other than he scored the goal which Tonge wiped out in the League Cup a couple of years ago.

There are a number of names being tossed around (how rude) but no-one seems certain yet.

You know where the news will be as soon as we hear it :)
 

From what I have seen of him and from what has been spoken about him by the Liverpool fans, he will be a great asset.....and you must have seen that goal against Arsenal last season, what a cracker!!!! That guy was drafted into the squad due to injury crisis, he wasn't match fit but still put on a great performance and scored a wonder goal.

And Linz, you just be careful on who's names your tossing about.....you never know what you may get ;)
 
what makes that more funny is they proper thought they were in the big time by getting to the cup final and being in Europe!!! Ha ha, look at you now!!!!

Getting various rumours re: Transfer Target.It seems its going to be Neil Mellor from Liverpool.Conflicting rumours seem divided as to whether it is going to be a 1 year loan deal or a £500k full transfer.I have a sneaky feeling that this will be a loan deal with another striker to come in before the deadline considering Mellors injuries over the past year
 
Mellor would be a good signing but personally would like to see us sign Zamora.
 
Zamora didn't really do much for me last season. After he left Brighton he hasn't done anything at all.......in my opinion.
 
he did pick up at the back end of last season though & had a stormer in the play-offs against Ipswich.
 
The thing is, we ain't gonna get a striker who has been bagging them in all season, or else he wouldn't be sold. Whoever we get with have the dreaded 'Potential' tag assigned to them, we just have to hope whoever it is doesn't have a confidence problem. We need someone to come in and do the Biz straight away.

That's why it's so hard to find a striker, and I'm glad Warnock isn't going out for just anyone.
 
I agree no.9 ,i would prefer Zamora but i don't think he fits Warnocks bill,as he's looking for a striker who is 6ft+,and can hold up the ball like chief did.Listened to football heaven on radio sheffield last night and the majority of fans think he might go for Pawal Abbott from Huddersfield.I know 99% of fans are against Akinbadbuy but unfortunately he seems to be the only one that fits the bill ,in the ccc anyway.
 

You might not need them 'til January looking at some of the articles :)

What do we reckon then, is he worth £500k and would that leave us the money to get someone else?
