Reported on the blades website we have signed Daniel Gold from Charlotte FC. 16 years old GK who has a dual nationally of Romanian and American. This is a significant move for a 16 year old who has been called up to the Romanian U16 squad in the last year. Apparently we paid 400K for this kid. Now I have no idea whether that's due to his age and compensation to Charlotte FC however this move is extremely rare for a non top 6 PL team to be signing players from America at this age. It happens more often in Germany due to the relaxed rules on signing foreign players, however not as often in Bundasliga 2.

My Football manager knowledge is good, however he isn't on any of the new games due to his age.

I may be reading into this, however it's a very different significant thing for us. The new board and AI system can be used to pick up some good quality youngsters from the states. Football is massive in the younger school ages due to the non contact of American football and being unable to play till a certain age. This may be the start of the Yanks coming over to play more. I'm all for this and this is what the AI model was created for. I will try and do some more digging in regards to the quality of this player.

If we paid £400k for this guy, it is proof that our owners have money to support our aspirations.
I don't doubt the new owners have money. What's the business point in buying a championship club who lose money every year to never get promoted, lose more money, lose their investment and sell at a loss...

People have gone into meltdown today due to the "frees and loans". Which in reality means, we will get the best players out there for free if we can, we will spend our money on quality players when they are available to move to use. We won't throw money at anyone as we don't need to as the squad is already very good.

Good grief Dave. That's far too sensible an opinion for today. Don't you know you have to believe the piece by some spotty kid from Cardiff as he obviously knows the inner workings of our budget for this season.

Also anyone who thinks that Free's are actually Free seriously need to give their head a wobble.

We spent just under, or just over dependent on where you look, £5m on "Fees" last summer and I actually thought it was one of our best windows for ages so honestly not sure why so many people are having a meltdown.

I think the talk of the AI system is a bit overplayed. We’re just doing what loads of other football clubs at this level have been doing for a while and moving to a data-led recruitment model.

People generally have no clue how the inner workings of a club actually works. Don't get me wrong, i have 0 experience at all in how the inner workings of a club actually run, however I know how businesses run. Iv also spend the last 18 years of my life playing football manager. The fees alone for free agents as a signing on bonus are crazy, compounded with increased wages due to no outlay of transfer fees and at times agent fees as well.

Every club should be signing free transfers every year to bolster their squad whether it be for the first team or academy players. They all cost money but it is good business for the club. People forget one of our best ever free signings was Didzy

It's overplayed as we haven't done this before. I love the model. It's what I have wanted for years. If we were a top 10 PL team I would also want feeder clubs, like United world tried to do but evidently failed as we couldn't stay at the top and the clubs we had affiliations with didn't have any success either.

Not sure you need to have much clue about the inner working of how a club works as anyone with any semblance of common sense should be able to join the dots.
