Andy died last Wednesday, after a short fight with cancer. He had a heart transplant 9 years ago and remained on a cocktail of drugs to prevent rejection, which unforunately limited treatment options. It's only 3 weeks ago, sincei he stood outside the Cremorne, Guiness in hand, ridiculing all things Pig.

He was 62, and leaves a son, daughter and 3 grandkids. Sadly, his wife Rebecca only died last year, so the kids have had both barrels.

Andy had a career in sales and could talk bollocks with the best of them. His pithy one liner put downs, will live long in the memory of those who knew him. He made you laugh, then laugh again and he always had to get in the last word. You couldn't really fall out with him, whatever he said and did, because ultimately he was a gennuine bloke. He loved his family, his mates and United and will be very sorely missed.

I met him when I was 7 in Anston, and went to matches, innitially with our dads, then on our own from early teens. We had plenty of eventful away games, getting the odd smack here and there, but Andy really held the torch. and carried on going away to most games, until the end of last year.

Even if you didn't know him, you might have been overtaken in the 80s and 90s, by a Sierra doing 100mph, or maybe you remember his flag in the rain at S6 in 92.

RIP Andy, you daft bastard.

Oh no. I knew Andy (I suspect I'll know you) and only recently heard he'd got cancer. Top bloke, I'm gutted.

There are no words to convey the depth of loss I feel at the passing of this wonderful man father and passionate blade . On reflection there are millions of words that could be used to convey they love and respect so many of us felt and still feel for him . He once said to me “ I am a father then a blade and I lll walk that oath “ As regards United the glass was always nine tenths full with Andrew - he would defend his club passionately and would never allow negativity to be spoken about his beloved United without finding some appropriate defence from somewhere . When his son called me on Thursday I went straight to the lane and cried bucketloads in the SS carpatk thinking about my mate . RIP Andrew you will never ever be forgotten ⚔️⚔️xxxx

Another one who will be cheering us on from up above…. RIP

Although Andy loved TC, I'm pretty sure his favourite player was Woody.

Ever a man to move with the times, he embraced Edwards, TK, John McPhail, Joe Bolton, Martin Kuhl, Bob Booka, Deano, Dane, Bradders et al.

He would have been quite nobbed off to see that lot get their first home win, but he'd definitely have been at Deby to see us win, and he would have most certainly raised a glass to Billy getting a hat-trick, as he retired. Actually, he would have raised second, third, fourth glasses etc.

Thanks to everybody for the comments and it's really good to see that quite a few of you, actually knew him.

RIP Andy/Brosk/Bostik and most certainly UTB.

I first met Andrew in my formative years as a teenager through him being mates with my Dad some 30 years ago in the early Warnock days. I remember vividly long funny car journeys, the first one being WBA away (lost 2-1) followed up by QPR (Santos) and many many more.

He was so fun to be around and kind. As time went on I went to games with other people but would always bump into him and share a drink and a chat. I remember I sat with him when Leon (I think) put us 1-0 at MK Dons in the L1 promotion game and he had me on his shoulders in the concourse at halftime as we went on the march with wilders army. I have many other similar memories of him.

I weirdly dreamt about him on Wednesday night, he was playing Sunday league in the yellow away laver kit and running the show in a number 10 role. It was only later that day when my Dad told me the news that dream came flooding back. I knew he wasn’t well but thought I’d get chance to see him next season.

Obsessed by his family, kids and grandkids and Blades. I’ll miss seeing him at games and when we get our Wembley win I’ll drink to Andrew.

Some nice messages about Andrew on here, including from his friends in the Cremorne and people who have known him many years. Just wanted to add how well liked Andrew was by his post match drinking mates too, some who also travelled away regularly with him. Many years and laughs spent in the Barrel and more recently in the Zephyr’s. Always great company, had time for all his mates, and their families. Was looking back to his best recently and I know I speak for the other lads when I say he will be greatly missed and how it hasn’t quite sunk in yet that we won’t be seeing him on the South or in the pubs again. Intelligent, funny, said it how it is, good friend and very loyal home and away blade. RIP Andrew

Really sorry for your loss I should coco , RIP young man ⚔️
Cheers JSW, but it really is heart warming to see that others knew him well and had their own very clear memories of him.

It is absolutely not 'my' loss. I've probably known him longer than others, but obviously plenty of people have their own stories about Andy and that is brilliant.

He'd be chuffed to bits.

Andy's flag.

He sweet talked the stewards to explain how he permission to take it in and put it in the corner (obviously, he didn't have any such thing).
