Sorry we doubled his wages from league one to championship upon signing from £1k a week to £2k then doubled it on promotion so from leaving Oxford his wage quadrupled in 2 years to £4k

Maybe we didn’t offer him any more because we didn’t think he was worth any more. And I can’t say I’d disagree with that assessment.

He’ll be remembered at Ibrox and at BDTBL for the occasional goal he scored, not for any footballing prowess

He wouldn't at Spurs, and there wasn't a cue of Premier League clubs taking him at the time

ANY ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB CAN TAKE A SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER BECAUSE THEY CAN PAY MORE WAGES.

Southampton took Van Dyke, Wanyama and Armstrong from Celtic
Brentford took Ajer from Celtic
Palace took Edouard from Celtic.

Would club retard have got any of those players..........No, absolutely not. Each one of them would have seen it as a step down. But apparently it's not a step down to go to Brentford.

Would any of Brentford's, Southampton, or Palace's best players end up in Scotland at the height of their careers......No, absolutely not.

If we suddenly stumbled upon a decent player that had escaped the radar of other Premier League clubs and Celtic came in for him, would we be able to hold onto him.......No, absolutely not.

That's the difference between a Premier League club, and Sheffield United who just happened to have found themselves there a couple of times.

Arguably…is doing a lot of lifting in that sentence, because I’d argue he was nowhere near the level of our other midfielders. Not fit to lace John Fleck’s boots, for example.

And I’m probably on the same planet as those in the club who didn’t offer him an improved contract. 🤷‍♂️

I doubt we even offered Lundstram a deal, i suspect his agent submitted his demands and we decided very quickly that we wouldn't be meeting them!
 
Really hope he gets a bad reception at the lane. Considering Jebbison got a lot of stick last season, what lundstram did was way worse. Completely packed in the moment Berge came in, proper spat his dummy out. It’s transpired since that Berge is indeed a much better player and it was right to try and integrate him. I’ll never forget the covid year where he really packed in on the field, I distinctly remember the arsenal game at home where he didn’t bother tracking back and our striker sprinted past him towards our own goal while he walked around sulking.

Big time Charlie and I hope Soumare kicks him all over the pitch.
