Howe coming in the summer, Tindall sussing things out and reporting back, so Howe will have a clean slate and not have another relegation on his hands.

Howe is the only decent candidate out there.

Why not get him in now to suss it out?

Would prefer Airdrie if I’m honest

So if it's true that Tindall is Bettis' mate. That means he's parachuted in to spy on the players.

That'll go down well with an already depressed squad. Genius thinking by these boardroom no marks again!

I'm not really sure why there's a problem with him coming in as assistant. He is friends with Bettis which a bit of a conflict but he has coached at a really high level, he's not the man for the main job but he's a good coach albeit

Our new training complex is supposedly identical to Bournemouth’s as well. So he can prance around at training as if he never left the south coast.

Man in football knows other man in football. Therefore must be something dodgy.

Do you realize how you’re starting to sound?

A lot has been said recently about thinking Burnley and how we have aimed to model ourselves on them but on our rise up the leagues I remember a lot of talk about us modelling ourselves on Bournemouth as well especially when wilder first came in and we shared a warm weather training camp with them. I wonder if modelling ourselves on Bournemouth is still a prevalent thought within the club hence tindall and maybe Howe. Our recruitment model this year (young with potential) has certainly been more Bournemouth than it is Burnley.

i think howe is our number one choice yogi and personally i would be happy with that hes a better option than appleton imo

How am I starting to sound?

Pardon me for being suspicious.

But if Knill's staying and Heckingbottom is boss, why do we need Tindall anyway, to put the cones out?

For all this talk of Tindall coming in before Eddie Howe in the summer, there’s a lot of Bournemouth fans on Twitter saying the two fell out and won’t work together again.

He’s far better than Appleton, Lennon or any of the names currently mooted. He may well fail if he comes but I’d at least be comfortable with the decision making process if we arrive at Howe where as I’d have to question it if it’s appleton.

That’s cos it’s probably a load of nonsense. If we wanted Howe, he’d be here. Not sending his former no. 2 to “suss it out” for him.

If he gets the same resource as Chris got then yes, it's a disaster, because there's not a man on this planet that could replicate Chris' success in the same circumstances.

This is such a bad day for us as a football club.

The magic that laced our success over the last 5 years can never be replicated. Magic.

This isn't a successful manager leaving and causing some upset, this is different. Totally different.

The finality of it, in this manner, is choking.

Success is one thing, but with one of us at the helm, setting records, recreating the rule book on formation, rampaging through the championship and then the Prem, unbeaten in London...it was different,on another level. It got into your soul. It's what got me drawn back in, it's what had people outside the stadium just soaking up the atmosphere because they couldn't get a ticket - against Chesterfield. It's what got us a smart looking shop in meadowhall that I was proud to take the kids in and buy them blades shirts, proud to tell them I've got Chris's shirt when he played with us. History coming alive and setting football alight again.

Sorry to hijack your post, but this is so much more than losing a manager. I cant realistically imagine being lit up like we have done in my lifetime again. I just cant. And I'm 42.

Probably take a break from visiting the website again for a while. Everything red and white seems emptier and with more regret than it ever should have, all seems so preventable.
Blimey, I’m sorry you’re so cut up but let’s get some perspective here. This is the oldest football club in the world and CW achieved great things during his spell, a very short spell in the context of our history. The Prince backed him with an, under the circumstances, incredible endorsement but his behaviour recently has been nothing short of a spoiled mardy arse.
You might have a partner who you consider the love of your life, gives you the happiest times and who you would think will be with you til you die. However, if they treat your kids unfairly, slag you off in public and refuse to treat the relationship with any respect, there’ll come a time when you think, this can’t go on. Counselling gets you to the point of suggesting that a bit of give and take is needed but no, they believe that everything has to be on their terms. None of us know what actually went on but I’m sure it will be revealed in due course. For me, his behaviour simply could not be tolerated any longer. I have consistently advocated keeping him into next season but, let’s be honest, we have been utterly awful since last March. Yes, yes, we lost JOC but I cannot remember a single game when I thought, “ yes, he’s got us playing with passion and commitment again.” Had we still been a PL side, I’m sure, the Board would, to a degree, have tolerated his demands but recently we, frankly, have looked like the L1 team some on here are convinced we’ll become again.
So, come on, the world will keep turning, Sheffield United will be fine next season. The next permanent appointment is indeed a very important one but all this talk of chanting CW’s name in front of the new manager, is not the behaviour of supporters committed to the Club. It is more akin to unquestioning idolatry of an individual and will be undermining what we all profess to want - success for SUFC.

Least its sounding like only till the end of the season. I don’t think things can get any worse in the pitch
This, who on earth, watching our recent performances, is going to come now. CW will soon be forgotten as the blame for risible performances is shifted to the new manager. Outcry’s put pressure on the Board and, knowing how fickle opinions are, they could well be gone in the close season as confidence diminishes, reputation shattered and for what? If it is EH, sending a lieutenant to take the flack until the end of the season is a very smart and wholly understandable move.

Spies? What needs explaining? You’re venting, looking at every single thing as a conspiracy. That’s not suspicion, it’s paranoia. There’s a lot of logic in your posts but very little balance. In fact next to none.

Re your last paragraph, l have no idea. Which is why l’m not just going to spread negative thoughts around the forum on any little thing l don’t like.

Also worth noting that for the next 3-4 months this is one of the 23 most attractive jobs in the country there will be no shortage of candidates we shouldn’t be scrapping the barrel and if it means paying compo to get a successful manager from elsewhere then do it manager compo is relatively low compared to transfer fees and a good manager is worth his weight in gold as we have seen.

Read books by ex players. They always don't like and are suspicious of this sort of thing. "Friend of board" suddenly appears on the scene to watch over. That'll go down well after whats just gone on!

I want us to come back up next season.

Upto now, we've been losing by the odd goal or a couple of goals, sometimes in controversial circumstances. What I don't want it for dressing room harmony and team morale to fall of a cliff as then we'll probably get tanked 5 and 6 nil every week, the dischord will set it in, which will probably result in the squad breaking up and the job of making us competitive next season a whole lot harder.

I don't want anything that upsets the apple cart.

As for venting, like most people I post behind an anonymous identity I've adopted. So I'll do what I want, it's how I'm letting off steam. Thank loose internet rules on identity for that if you are you don't like it.

No ones said you can’t do it so don’t play that card.

If tindall and the new coaching regime can get lundstram to break sweat or mousset to join in a bit then they are an improvement

So the key questions for this season are
• Where will we finish the season
• What will be our most frequent goals per game tally
• How much pleasure will I get as a fan
• Who will be the managerial team at the end of the season

Fecking bottom
Nil and
Feck all

He is the AK in Bournemouth’s rise from the lower leagues to the Premiership.
Not a good candidate for manager, but great for new ideas and contacts in the short term.
