I looked at the Bournemouth forum last night trying to find out about this and there seems to have been rumours that Howe wasn't happy that Tindall took over after he'd gone but as far as I could see nothing had actually been said by both parties. Some Bournemouth fans think it's nonsense. They've worked together for years, Tindall was even a player with Howe. He left to go to Burnley with him too.

As for Tindall he's incredibly well liked at Bournemouth. A lot saying probably not a manager but an excellent coach. Seems like he was basically their version of Alan Knill .
Of the options out there that I have knowledge of, Howe and Tindall would definitely be up there for me.

I'm not convinced its a job Howe would take but then again I'm not even sure what I'm basing that view on. Maybe that I expect him to wait for better options?

It's all happened a bit quick and the fact Tindall knows Bettis, makes me think that it's nothing more than someone with a contact asking him to help out for a couple of months.

I'd be happy enough though if it's right what one or two are pushing on here, that Tindall is here to prepare the ground for Howe coming in.

I also feel that would alleviate my concern over a complete firesale in the summer.

Never a dull moment being a Blade.

Let me know when he reneged and I'll hazard a guess. Like most on here.

It was supposed to be done at the end of 2020.

It is now March 2021 & works haven't started.

The evidence would suggest his end of the bargain hasn't been kept. You could say he's reneged.

But maybe I'm just hazarding a guess. Like most on here.

I think Covid has been stopping fans attending for while now, and still is. That's a substantial drop in income. Something had to be put on the back burner. It's just a stick to beat him with in support of CW. A fairly shitty stick as well.

Not quite on topic but I thought that we were looking at Norton aerodrome??

Shirecliffe is a shithole, full of pigs. I'd imagine the leaky roof is the same one from when I used to play there when it was the Forgemasters.

Anyone in their right mind would prefer a training ground in the south of the city. Maybe that's part of the thought process.

Think you will find shirecliff has a large blades contingent, and it's allways been a good sports ground from when it was the atlas ànd Norfolk club (firth browns ,)

I know nothing can make up for not having 32k fans in the stadium but was really impressed by how vocal he was from start to finish last night. Was riding every tackle with the players applauding our nice moves, getting on the refs back on soft fouls to make sure were given. Those little things can make the difference

True, who knows the £20-£30 million or whatever in lost ticket sales was the money allocated to the new training ground. Has anyone been upto old Norton airfield/driving place to see if anything has changed ?

was brought up on shirecliffe always plenty of blades and although definete pig areas southey and parsons cross had loads of blades on em as well ps 4 of us were sat in a car at atlas and norfolk ground in oct 71 when bestie scored that goal after being locked out with 10k other blades fans at old trafford

I walked past yesterday and some of the old buildings have now been demolished. Something seems to be happening, dunno if it's blades related though.

Probably another Aldi.

I thought someone else said it was to do with asbestos but might be wrong

Still could be removing it in readiness for something else.

"Due to Covid etc, there has been a delay in getting those works undertaken by the utility providers. Now that has happened SCC is working with a contractor to complete the demolition. Options for the site are still being reviewed at the moment.

What’s going to happen with Bettis’ mate now then, reckon he’ll be quietly ushered out the back door?

He’ll move on having helped the club through a difficult time having given the club the time to make a well received appointment he should probably leave with our thanks and best wishes imo having stepped into a bad situation and helped hecky to start to stabilise things.

Possibly but wasn’t there rumours of a fall out between those two?

It’s why Howe was pretty much ruled out of coming to us.
Nah that was just a rumour from Bournemouth fans putting 1+1 together and getting 4.

Not by the board, they were interested but he wasn’t.

Don’t really get the Tindall hate. Not done anything wrong, as far as I can tell.

We needed staff, Tindall had 12 years experience as well as being a highly regarded AM. If you're friend fitted the criteria and you desperately needed someone in asap then I don't see that as nepotism. Also, watching the games without the fans you could see and hear his influence. I hope he gets another crack at management and I wouldn't see it as a bad thing at all for him to be retained on our coaching staff.

Heard yesterday that howe isn't taking any of his old staff with him

Celtic wanted Howe to have their back room staff & DOF, and Howe wants his staff from Bournemouth but couldn't approach until the playoffs were over. Or something like that.
