With loans maybe money in the short term is not as valuable as improving the player for the medium to long term.
 
Jake CS would not be a loan, whilst he may see us as an ideal opportunity to develop him as a footballer he will also be influenced by the size of his signing on fee and salary. Oh and his agent will be influenced by how much he will earn from the deal. But for agents we would have had Maupay and not Mcburnie.

I suspect he might have given his agent a payrise for that!
 
I’d like to see us give Charley musonda a go it we’re looking at Chelsea’s released list. One of those gambles you have to take to get quality on the cheap. Clearly has talent

He’s been injured for two years…don’t think he’s in a good place. But … you never know … someone might take a punt on him. It’s be more of a Wilder signing imho

Really not convinced by this. Someone I work closely with is a season ticket holder at The Ricoh, or whatever they call it now, and said he was band average at theirs last season.

Agree with it being a wilder type of signing. I guess a trial wouldn’t hurt. Not done to bad with injury prone trialists prior

Kirby from Palace would be a low risk trialist to bring in aswell has a very respectable career for England at youth level but hasn’t really made a name for himself in the club game

I’ve seen little bits of him… I think so anyway. I think players like that are the type we need to be giving trials to. Players that have quality but for whatever reason it hasn’t worked for them thus far

Haha. Take your point but I’d doubt there’s a single player that plays for us on which we all agree.

Also, different system here and one in which Robinson can look like a good championship centre half. It’s crying out for someone with potential to come in and step up.
 
We, the supporters and the journalists have very little idea of who our targets are. We can but speculate who the most logical targets are and this guy would fit into this category but there may be all sort of reasons, be they ability, suitability for position, fee, wages, terms of contract, location, inside influence from other clubs, agents requirements etc. etc. as to why he will or will not sign. To say we missed out on such and such a player and we’re beaten to him by another club again is v niave.
Journalists have to have sometimes educated sometimes just guesses in order to sell, our own Alan Biggs and Danny Hall are perfect examples and no doubt the Coventry papers have their fair share of similar.

That won't stop some having a moan - it will be another one where there'll be uproar because the club didn't sign someone people on here wanted them to sign. I can see the quotes now - no ambition, no money, HRH out etc. etc.

Same every transfer window.

We get rumours we're interested in players and when they sign elsewhere there's uproar. I'd hazard a guess some the ones doing the moaning haven't even seen said player play.
