I'm being (effectively) told it is absolute common practice across the vast majority of English Clubs that if an Academy player fails to sign a new deal offered before his contract has expired, he will no longer be selected to play for his Academy team. Even though he obviously remains under contract.
I'm therefore being told that this claimed situation with Iliman - that he has refused to sign a new deal, remains under contract under his existing deal, but now won't be picked for SUFC Academy levels is the widespread policy across all English Football Academies.
I'm not saying that's false. I'm just gently challenging it. I'm challenging that anyone would have the detailed knowledge to be definitive about that. And I'm asking for links to reports & evidence. Evidence of kids who have been frozen out because they won't sign a new deal, even though their existing deal is still valid.
I'm asking for evidence of more Ilimans.....
