If Brunt can’t even make the bench after playing like he did in the Cup then I wouldn’t hold much hope of seeing Ndiaye anytime soon.

If he wants to here then he should sign the contract and wait for an opportunity not demand playing time.
We don't know the terms offered. We might be the ones taking the piss for all we know.

Coming over all strong arm now when we let Lundstram walk all over us. That ship has sailed.

Here was my take I posted, starting another thread having not seen this one:

I saw Richard Sooty also mention this on Twitter.

Let's not be like Wednesday please.

The whole George Hirst saga was painful to watch with no winners.

There seems a distance on his proposed contract terms and also he seems to want to understand what chances of development he may get. Remember he is older than Jebbison by a few years.

Be the bigger man. Bring the guy back into the fold. Let him train properly and give the new manager a chance to see what he can do.

If he makes an impression then his contract will solve itself.

But having let Lundstram carry on his antics when running down his deal, it is a bit rich to be now finding the higher ground with some young kid whose career is at a crucial stage. It does feel like picking on the little guy.

Personal principles of the likes of Shieber, Mitchell and JVW whichever is the driving force, shouldn't be allowed to get in the way of what is firstly a young kid and secondly an asset to the football club either saleable or playable.

Sidelining him does neither his retail value, nor his onfield value any good.

It also makes the club look pretty and small minded and we should be better than that.

At a time there is a possibility of signing a 35 year old, last seen playing in Qatar for who knows what wage, let us please have some common sense and good grace.

My prediction is Ndiaye will end up leaving be snapped up by an upper echelon team and be worth moon beams in the future and we will all look on sadly at what could have been.

What I will also say as a final comment from me is it's a bit critical for us as fans to say 'i can't believe Lunny is being picked every week when he won't sign a new contract'

And then say 'why is Ndiaye not getting picked, if he did he might sign a new contract'

What happens if we pick him with the hope he signs new contract and then he never does. We've just wasted one spot in our team.

Ndiaye has to either put his faith in development with Sheffield united and sign on or leave and go elsewhere.

Fwiw I think he's already made his decision

I think there will be a stop along the way probably at a London club I could see him going QPR or Charlton playing and moving for decent money in a year or two.

Anyone else think we hold on to these lads too long at times in the hope they will be late developers. To me if a player is not breaking into the first team by the age of 21 then they are probably not going to be good enough and 99% of the time that is the harsh reality. Players should be introduced into the first team when they are around 18 there is an old saying 'if you are good enough you are old enough' and that holds good whatever level of football the club plays at be it league two or Premier league.
If this, well you can hardly call him a youngster anymore isn't getting games then we should sit down with him and work out why either get him involved or release him to go elsewhere, a lad who is not playing is no good to us and it is no good for him it needs sorting sooner rather than later.

This one isn't really about him not being good enough, it's about him not signing a new contract and being in his final year.

If he wants to be here and the club want him here then an acceptable contract will be offered and signed, the club and player need to sit down and talk. Stand off's do no good for either party if we can't find common ground then let him go we can't force him to sign. As a 21yr old I can understand him wanting to know if he has a chance of 1st team involvement before signing.

Looks like the club is playing hard ball here having the Lunnie situation fresh in the memory, the fans were slating Wilder and Heckingbottom for playing Lunnie .
Would be a bit rich doing similar with a young kid who has great talent ( harnessing that to a team game is not that simple) he even got a cameo at Leicester.
He cannot expect different treatment to the other young players who have signed new contracts and trying to develop there careers. He is a bit older yes! With fantastic individual ability ,the club have offered him the opportunity to progress his career .
How has he got to his age with no big club willing to take a punt on him.
We have offered him that !obviously with no guarantee of progression unless he earns it.
What I've seen of him ! he has all the skills Heckingbottom gave him an opportunity and really should have signed on this summer is he being advised by somebody to sit tight it seems the problem isn't money just he wants progression which he has to earn..
I for one have been excited watching the limited videos of him and the club seem willing to use him .
What comes first the chicken or the egg.

He's more than likely had another club lined up for a long time and been told to ride his contract out

I honestly don’t know what the issue is but can’t see it being money and not sure it’ll be playing time either as if we want to lock him down to a contract at 21 we must see him as a first team squad player at least.

N’Diaye is the biggest talent to come through the Sheffield United academy

Even putting that impressive point to one side, how are people making a judgement on Iliman's talent? YouTube clips? Hearsay? Bloke in pub?
Pure speculation I would guess, as opposed to dedicated following of their progression, as per yourself Phil!

Except.... I've learned by bitter experience & stated often that I find "identifying talent" impossible. The Carrier Bag Firm include SUFC Scouts who have been sent on courses about talent identification. I've tried to pick their brains on it. But essentially given up. I know enough about football to say who has played well in that game, who has played consistently well across a range of games. But, that's it. That doesn't necessarily translate into talent at the next level up. Ask Jordan Hallam. Ask Oli Greaves. Ask Harrison Neal. All players I've given a nod to.

Seriously. How are posters on this thread judging Iliman's talent?

It does feel a little bit like running away when faced with someone your own size, then punching a little kid in the face.

We had our time to show our true colours and principles with Lundstram. Instead we chose poorly.

It's late now to attempt to get any credibility back through this situation.

Don't claim to know enough about him to make a personal judgement but didn't Heckingbottom refer to him as 'a very talented boy, who deserves his chance' after Leicester away last season? Obviously someone that knows him very well and trusted he was ready for a step up to the first team.

Spot on Phil ! He has tremendous skill but translating that to a professional footballer is a long road.
Nothing comes easy in this game.

He was at rising ballers academy I think it's called so we were the club that took a punt on him 2 years ago not come through our academy

I had two long chats at U18/U23 away games in London with the SUFC Scout who recommended Iliman (and Ta'shae Andell-Gibbons) from Rising Ballers to United's Academy. He knew he was out on a limb recommending from that route rather than a more traditional pathway. He'd had to arrange games to showcase Iliman & Ta'shae so that those in charge of Academy Recruitment could have a better look at them. The best way I can think of explaining it is..... he knew Iliman and Ta'shae were high on technical, individual skills, but much lower on organisational, structure, strategy skills than their counterparts.

And we were taking a punt on that.
