For me the only promotion I'd be willing to accept with the Prince still in charge is via Play-offs because it means we finally got to see us win a game at Wembley.
Otherwise I'd be far happier (and think we're more likely to get sold eventually) by staying in the Championship. I couldn't bare a repeat of last season any time soon.

The answer to the question - "Do you want to get promoted?" is YES. Whatever season it is, the answer is always yes.

Never understood when people say, "I don't wanna go up"... get a grip FFS. Maybe sport isn't the best pastime if you're happy to settle with 2nd or 3rd place

Completely understand the concern of not wanting another season like last.

However, if PA remains in charge then getting promotion can't really be turned down. Only investment or a change in ownership will realistically keep us at best standing still for a couple of years before we inevitably slip backwards, probably notably.

I'm no longer certain though whether we're more attractive to new owners in the PL or the Champ. That would seem a silly statement but whilst not knowing the exact price PA wants, we don't appear to have attracted any credible interest whilst a PL team during the three recent seasons there.

I never used to understand people saying they didn’t want to go up at all, but now I am actually of that mindset.

The premier league is not a level playing field in the slightest. I hate Forest more than anyone, but them getting docked points for spending what they did, whilst chelsea spend a billion in 2 seasons, is just a disgrace. Clubs have to come up, spend less than anyone and try and stay in an unbelievably strong league. Then listen to intolerable pundits gush over top teams when they pummel them into oblivion!

The extra subs and extra stoppages just make it less of a level playing field. VAR is horrific and is destroying the game, not knowing if it’s a goal until ages after with incapable refs is painful.

It’s not waving the white flag to say you don’t want to be a part of that league, it’s not wanting to be part of an unfair system.

I can confidently say no. Last season was probably the worst I've ever experienced following United, embarrassing from start to finish, and I've never left early on so many occasions. It was an utter disgrace, and that was largely down to the Prince.

I don't know why anyone would even consider doing that again. Because you know that if we did go up, we would just do the same thing: sell our best players at the first offer, hurriedly replace them with sub-standard replacements from the Norwegian league, and go down with less than 20 points.

Even under new ownership I'm pretty ambivalent about going up. The gap between the two leagues is just mind-blowingly big - it's effectively a double promotion in one. And it's only getting worse. The only chance you have of staying up is with a) a miracle or b) a Forest-style £200m splurge on new players.

Just look at this season. The promoted teams have played a combined 12 games and have yet to win. All three will go down, again.

Going up and coming back down if done sensibily can set the club up for years. Also adds more excitement to the match day.

On the flip side, going up and staying up COULD provide financial security for many a year..... probably comes with not as much excitement if it's mid table mediocrity every year 🤣

I dont like the prem . I have never liked it and I don't want to get back to it but the state of out finances mean we have to keep dipping our toes in the water just to be able to keep our heads above water. I can not see any other way apart from selling the family silver . To survive the prem you need mega bucks which we do not have . Also listening to the so called experts on match of the day pulling us apart mainly because we are not rich and can't compete really is a pain while at the same time they lick the arses of the Man cities and Liverpools who have mega rich backers. Not to mention getting hammered every other week makes the prem a real pain. Also the actors the cheats can not see what there is to like it .

I don't enjoy watching the Premier League games, regardless of whether we were in it and haven't for 20 years. To underline this, I was watching Arsenal vs Spurs, and as it was boring me senseless with eight bookings and not a single bad tackle, I switched over to watch Portsmouth vs WBA. Much more like the football I grew up playing and watching.

In reality, this season is as good as it gets for us. We're armed with parachute money, have a decent starting eleven, and are playing attacking football. It's time to enjoy the ride and not the destination.

What about winning but not going up? Or just taking the cash and stying down…. I’d like us to se every game but the prem is now a private members club

Definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result . Premier is a serious league that can’t tolerate half arsed commitment
..but with a better squad it will not be doing the same thing. I don’t suggest that we we would survive, but we would compete as well as collecting large sums of money.

Having watched the 'star studded' Birmingham Wrexham match and comparing it to American football, I would stick with the Prince regardless. When did the celebrities become more important than fans....yuk.

If people want to see the future watch Kansas in the NFL and you will see more of a famous fan than the game, our future 🤣.

Also with more experience and a manager who would know exactly what went wrong and what is needed to stay up.

Find it weird how we have fans who don't want promotion.....do they want us to lose this season?
If our fans lack ambition then what chance does a new owner have?
We have no choice but to try to reach the PL....that's where all the fame and fortune is......any clubs not in the PL gradually die a slow death.

If the Prince is in charge, our only route to financial sustainability is via promotion.
If we don't go up, I'd expect us to have to keep selling our best assets to keep our head above water and drift further and further down the league.

The league structure (any league format) is all about getting as high as you can.
The highest we can get realistically get currently is the Premier League.
If we could sustain a number of years there, the next step is a cup win and a stab at a European competition.

Even the most optimistic Brighton fan 15y ago would've laughed if someone told them they'd not only be a settled top flight team, but one that's played in Europe.

You'd hope that given a full season in charge, full stadiums and good summer recruitment a Wilder side would be more competitive than last time. It would be okay if we were competitive. And if Kyle Walker loses his place at Man City, we're the club he wants to move to.

Saying that, I hate what the PL has become and can't abide VAR, which the vast majority of fans want to get rid of. It's become an excuse to write off goals scored against the big clubs, and has ruined the game as a spectacle. Even if we are playing well I don't enjoy watching us in the PL with VAR waiting in the wings to chalk off our goals, award penalties against us and change yellow cards into reds.
