I can’t get my head around 79 people not wanting to get promoted?! We could have Ron Atkinson, Paulo Di canio and Carlos revel in charge and I’d still want us to get promoted. Why wouldn’t you want your club to go up ?!!
It's like turning down a shag with Margot Robbie because she might say you were crap in bed afterwards.

Had to Google Margot Robbie 😔

Not being picky but she does look a little scary 😳

What is it with Queensland girls & all that make up?

I originally would have said no to another season in the prem with no money, as last season was just miserable.
However I've realised that's just a selfish & short term view of mine as it sounds like we need the parachute payments to stay competitive.
& who knows we may stay up next time...? I hadn't thought of that 🤔

The season before our embarrassing performance all three promoted clubs stayed up.

We were just really fucking shite.

What's with this If the sale falls through. Fucking hell this sale has lasted longer than War and Fucking Peace!

If it's off then tell us. If it's on then ffs get it done!

This situation is ridiculously frustrating , most monotonous and very embarrassing!I

Get the fuck on with it one way or another.

Having seen what HRH did to poor old Kevin,

I just don't see any deal happening that isn't very much in his favour.
I would not expect what's best for the fans or the club to be at the top of any list in the transaction,
It will be all about business and the best deal for the owner,.
Just as it is in the sale of any Football club....

“Poor old Kevin” 😂😂😂 Kevin got played at his own game and lost.

Like others have said, I just can't get my head around the fact that supporters of our club do not want success for us, because that is what it boils down to. Yes it was a horrific season we had to bare, but the actual getting there is the success, & if we do go up the challenge is to stay there. Obviously we made a poor attempt at it last season, but the best way of going about it is to come back from every relegation with a promotion, time & again until we build up the club to the point we do stay there. No one said it was easy, but that is the challenge.

Makes you wonder who's actually holding the deal up

We’ve prob had around half a billion quid come into club from our recent stays in the premier league and we’re still potless…

Yes I would like the club to have success. What kind of stupid question is this?

I want us to win the League and not get promoted, regardless of who's in charge.

You have to go up, but does anyone want another arse kicking season, because last season destroyed me.

It gave me a very solid return on investment once the end result was obvious (about two minutes after we sold Ndiaye), if you just accepted the relegation at that point and stopped all investment in the season then, it was fine. It would have been more of a kicking if we actually came out of the traps with any intent on survival, but we didn't

What’s the point going up with the Prince in charge to spend £20m and be a national embarrassment again??
The alternative is stay down, have to sell our best players to stay afloat, get our arses handed to us in a league below the one we were in last time and then get relegated to the third tier again

Curse those pesky Blades fans booing and leaving early, meaning it was only "fine" rather than a "jolly old time" eh?

At some point in all that though.. surely the Prince has to drop his price to something that brings savvy investors along rather than ones willing to pay his crazy demands? Otherwise he could end up with next to nothing?

Maybe. Or maybe someone meets his demands and doesn’t think they’re as crazy as you do. I don’t know, and thankfully it’s not something that I have any control over.

The last thing we need now is someone buying the club cheap and then selling it's assets off to make a quick killing.
HRH. has spent money on players , the club is now in better shape to make a challenge, plus the new training ground has got to be a great improvement on what we already have.
Come on be fair, the club IS trying to move in the right direction, it may not be quick enough for some I know but at least you have to admit ,their trying...

They’ve literally paid us to fuck off and build a better team. If we don’t learn anything from our very painful lesson last season…We’ll deserve all the ridicule and distain that come our way.

The league structure (any league format) is all about getting as high as you can.
The highest we can get realistically get currently is the Premier League.
If we could sustain a number of years there, the next step is a cup win and a stab at a European competition.

Even the most optimistic Brighton fan 15y ago would've laughed if someone told them they'd not only be a settled top flight team, but one that's played in Europe.
Yes but Brighton owner gave them half a billion

There doesn't seem to be any local wealthy person to buy us and then be happy to subsidise our losses in the Championship so we have to rely on PL cash to :
1. Remain a strong Championship club
2. Build a new training complex at Dore
3. Have a Cat 1 academy
3. Make modest improvements to the Lane

This will be the case under any owner.
The yanks are not looking for a charity to support.

In short , if we spend more than 2 seasons outside the PL , we inevitably drift downwards.

Don't forget the debt we have to service every year till the mortgage on the ground is paid off

Seeing this theread bumped in December whilst we're sitting in 1st... makes me think there are worse problems to have than this. But it's still a thorn in the back of my mind that would stop me fully enjoying promotion.

I'd like to think with Cooper, Burrows and (fingers crossed!) Souttar bolstering us defensively we'd not be total whipping boys like last season if we do go up again.

If we can bolster our attack somewhat in January, then we'd have less of a mountain to climb in the Summer should we go up. Can the Prince fund some shrewd January signings before Premier League tax is applied to transfer fees?

That plus promotion would set us up to be an attractive club to buy in Summer 25 compared to the Summer 23 situation... unless he jack's up the price again.
