Hull are comfortable, just by doing the basics of football, getting tight, getting their tackles in,dealing with crosses and we give a guy the freedom of the right side to get a cross in,don't deal with the first or second ball adequately and that's all they needed, and probably all they will need to do to get the win.
It's been a hard watchin 2 poor teams
Penalty says it all...tame, weak, no confidence, sad.
Why would a player bang out of form and confidence be on pens?

I don’t even think we played all that badly. It was just a lack of effort at key moments. Not smart football at all.

Unreal how 1 deflected goal changed the narrative.

We absolutely dominated that game.

61.6% v 38.4%
XG 1.69 v 0.45
Shots 11 v 5
Touched in box 30 v 15

But, we just don’t look like we have the confidence to score a goal.
There is no pattern to the attacking play and no magic. Said it last season (way before the drop in form) that there is no such thing as a typical Utd goal any longer. With warnock we had two or three, basset same. Wilder has neglected this aspect and we are now paying the price. As for the corners, we stand bunched on the six yard line and too close to the keeper. No momentum, no moving forwards onto the ball, getting in each others way (as shown from the scramble). Where are the patterns, typical runs, dynamism. We have none of it.

At the byline, not sure if straight across the keeper or tuck it back to a runner… they look like strangers and that is a deficiency of coaching.

It’s just the obvious stuff that’s getting to me. The defence is lopsided, we don’t win the 2nd ball and neither Hamer or OHare are making diagonal runs in behind… what are they working on in training??
Then there’s the baffling tactics and substitutions. Tanganga playing in a ‘not quite’ RB position. Hamer on the left… again!! Barry (when we see him) on the right!
And then Burrows… he’s completely off it this season to the point where he’s lost his place in the IX, he’d been on the pitch 10 mins, done nothing, but still steps up to take the pen… ridiculous! Give the ball to Ings for pity’s sake!!
This needs to change… and fast!
532 is an absolute must for the next game!

Can see in the last four games, an improvement. Really should be between 5 or 7 points in Wilders 4 games. Just have to really capitalise on the international break
It really shouldn’t have been 5 or 7 points. We got what we deserved. If we set up in a way that makes it difficult for us to score goals this is what we get. We’re a bit tighter at the back but we don’t set up to win games.

That second half has to be the blueprint going forward.

We didn't score many last season considering how many points we gained but so far this it's nothing short of shameful.

The preferred starting system simply doesn't work.

However, whilst we lack balance no-one will convince me that this group of players shouldn't be doing better.

He's stumbled upon his best xi at the end of the game.
Campbell, Ohare and Peck should not be starting.

As you say Ings actually showed for the ball to allow Davies and Hamer to make a pass, instead of having a teletubby up front plodding around all game
So you are saying Cannon should be starting??

Amazing. Two up front we look more of a goal threat. If Wilder is too stubborn to do this from the start of a game, he's lost the plot
Stubborn Mr Wilder, never…I will keep playing cannon…I will prove you all wrong! We will get forward and then bring it back to halfway…you will not be permitted to shoot unless the ball goes out wide first! Shite

We are going down and even the optimists can't argue with that now. So many things wrong on the pitch. Our set pieces were dreadful. We lacked physicality in the middle yet Soumare continues to get splinters on his arse. What we could do with a Matt Crookes in the middle. When we go to two up top we drop Hamer deep to bring Barry on why. !!! As for the penalty a switched on manager would have ensured Ings take the penalty. Everyone could see Burrows body language said he didn't want to take it. The season has virtually gone now. Dull were average but defended well. We should have gone to a 2 at half time. We spent most of the match playing to Mcburnies strength by popping the ball onto his head from every set piece. Tactics were all over the place at the end.

For those trying to sugar coat the performance by saying we looked half decent the fact is we can't score goals and the way we are set up stops that happening. 3 points from 27 thats relegation form. Bewildering how we continue to make the same mistakes week in week out by starting Peck Hamer and COH together.

Here we go (tin on) my next team and 3-5-2 formation after international break
Cooper
Tanganga Mcguiness Mee
Seriki Matos Davies Hamer McCallum
Ogbene Ings

Seriki/Barry
Peck/Matos

This has to be the starting eleven next game

Cooper
Tanganga McG Mee
Seriki Davies Matos Hamer Burrows
Ings Campbell

xG can be disregarded in any game, but it's also more so today for us when a pen is 0.8 xG lol
I’m not a big xG fan myself either but the narrative of Hull “deserved” the win is bullshit. They got a lucky deflection. That decided it.

Matos is like the second coming of Paul Thirlwell.

He only passes sideways.

Hard to believe he managed to remain in Chelsea’s books for so long.

He looks small and off it. Whoever chose him to replace Souza needs their bumps feeling, especially when the likes of Sheaf moved this window.

nail bang on the head with those 3 to get o'hare in the side we can only play with 1 striker and how peck is getting picked game after game is a disgraceful decision by wilder we will be relegated unless wilder starts being more positive nowts changed from selles being in charge

Nobody deserved to win. But this isn't a Hull City forum so talking about how crap they were as well is irrelevant. We were absolutely pitiful and just were not setup to win.

I only want Matos to break things up and pass it sideways. Davies, Hamer, Burrows and Seriki would move it forward

bbc updated now:

Just goes to show how shot the confidence is. That’s a 3-1 win with some confidence.

Think my first post when he was linked was he's too small.

If wilder has his way I suspect the majority of the summer incomings would be moved on bar the old timers. The reality is it's not that easy.
