A win .

Pretty even game.
Not a great performance but a win
Rothwell probably our MOM

I’m just going to stick this here though it could go on loads of threads:
That was the most enjoyable win of the season because:
A) it’s nice to see Hull being put back in their place, always think they are a club with huge delusions of grandeur
B) lovely to see the only ex-United player I have truly disliked (including when he played for us) in 52 years of supporting them getting his marching orders
C) we actually came from behind to win
D) we actually got a refereeing decision go for us rather than against us

As I said
They are shit
The whole division is shit
A couple of things changed the game.

Brooks bang on the head finally woke him up (55?)
His last three starts have been HIS WORST for the club
Despite his MOTM award presumably as he scored the goal
Destroyed by the imbecile Wilder

subs a few minutes later

The imbecile removed some of his brain dead errors by
Removing the lightweight muppet OHare who was 1/10 minimum again
AS WAS BAMFORD AGAIN UNTIL THEN
When after then he did win a booking and MADE a pass for the first time
and STILL unbelievably put wide from 3 yards as opposed to sidefooting to the goalkeeper from 7 yards AGAIN first half
and putting Hamer is his best position of 10 rather his brain dead Wilder position

Changed the attack by putting the emphasis of WINGERS attacking wide rather than full backs
Putting Chong on the left
Rather than Brooks of course
And putting Hoever on instead of main right side attacker Seriki

DID HE FINALLY FEAR THE SACK?
DID SOMEBODY SPEAK UP?

Helped by the penalty of course

As I said
We win DESPITE Wilder - NEVER because of him
Losing the quality next season would see us down with this imbecility every week

As for incidents
Lundstrum stood on McGuiness' left leg hence his reaction
The others like Tanganga were just brain dead re bookings.

Nice to win for once
SHOULD be a playoff season
and an essential promotion chance
You still wasting oxygen that a normal person could be using?

You lot make me laugh

You’ve just beaten a team in the play offs 2-1 and statistically outplayed them yet on your match ratings your motm has less than a 7/10 😂
Stick around Manwell. You ain't seen nothin' yet. MOTM was lucky to get a 7! We could beat Barca 5 - 0 and this lot would whinge. It's what they do. The 'Matchday Thread' needs renaming. I'm sure folks like yourself, me and a few others who don't need Samaritans on speed dial could think of something appropriate.

Strange game.

Overall we were quite poor, we lacked confidence, no threat or game plan and most of the players played like the season was over.
Hull were very underwhelming, organised defensively but lacking any quality. Quite remarkable to think they could be in the play-offs.

They went 1-0 up with their 1st shot, credit to McBurnie for making it very clear he respected our club and didn’t want to celebrate his goal.

Hull then just sat on their 1-0 lead and we struggled to break them down.
Our midfield looked weak, thought Peck was out of sorts as though he was ill, however credit to Rothwell, one of the few players who gave 100% playing like he cared and was desperate to win the match. Think he had it in his mind that he still owes the fans for his red card on his debut letting down the club.
Well today Rothwell can hold his head up high, he played with energy and desire.

It really looked like we were going to lose 0-1 in a match that lacked intensity and entertainment.
Then the momentum of the match changed when Lundstrum received a 2nd yellow and was sent off, it was a late tackle and looked a yellow.

Once down to 10 men Hull decided to park the bus for the last 15 minutes and we grew in confidence becoming extra postive kicking towards the Kop.

Then we got a bizarre penalty. There was loads of players from both sides holding and shoving each other just before our corner was taken.
The ref stopped play and warned the players to stop and pushing in the box.
As our corner came over there was still plenty of pushing and holding but the worse (stand out) culprit was McBurnie.
He rugby tackled one of our players and barged him into the net…..it was so blatant that it looked almost deliberate as though he wanted us to equalise.

Hamer sent the keeper the wrong away, now 1-1.
It was a bizarre and maybe lucky penalty but we deserved to be level.
McBurnie was shortly substituted off and he clapped all 4 stands whilst receiving a nice reception from Blades fans, good to see him being appreciated.

Then not long after we made it 2-1 with a well taken goal from Ings, who controlled the cross and toe poked his shot all in one movement giving the goalie little chance. Ings has done almost nothing whilst being at Sheff Utd, so it was good to see him produce a quality finish.

We ended up winning 2-1.
Played poor for 70 minutes, average for 10 minutes, then played really well for the last 10 minutes.
Don’t think grabbing an early lead did Hull any favours, they paid us too much respect and were clearly focussed on holding on to their 1-0 lead.
The crowd will no doubt be happy but I’d say a draw would have been the fairest result.
We can truly relax now….as those 3 points realistically gaurantee us staying up.

Can’t say we haven’t had chances.
How the flying fk you can’t score when 4 on 1 is anybody's guess.
Brooks lacking confidence, awful header he should have put away,
Sloppy at the back and useless up top.
The story of the season continues…

Hull looking good. Impressed by McBurnie, Lundstrum and Egan.
I'm sure I've heard those names before somewhere 😉
Two were likeable lads and one was a complete cunt with a face that invited my best punch

Hulls commentary are saying that the lundstum sending off was debatable, but in my opinion he was lucky to get away with a yellow for stamping on mcguinnes's leg
A cunt's trick by the epitome of cuntishness.

Dull by name dull by nature.
Saying that they played pretty well today but self-destructed thanks to Agent Lunny.

But TBH I’d rather see them in the playoffs than FC Hollywood.
FC Hollywood will get in the PL soon , we must accept that , I guess

Mc
Thought mcburnie and Egan looked better than when they played for us! Was fearful we would lose heavily before the turnaround and Gus gave a superb display today
McBurnie & Egan looked FITTER than they ever did for us.
Proof positive of our deficiency in athleticism.
It's either the player's attitude to coaching or the actual refusal of other clubs to accept the lower standards which appear to be accepted at the Lane.

To be fair to Jimmy Fleck, his reaction in Shoutbox was most positive when we equalised, and his immediate follow-up post was "Now win this!"

I've come to appreciate his posts, realising that he is actually a typical Blade, like most of us on here, if we're honest. Let's face it, we are the most miserable, pessimistic, negative fanbase on the planet. My dad spent his entire life referring to United as "The Idiots!" When he was too unwell to attend games, he only ever phoned me up at the end of a match when we'd lost. He didn't waste any time, either - my phone would ring before we'd even finished booing the players off, and he'd abandon all introductory pleasantries, instead opening with, "Were they rubbish?"

And yet, there were times like the Coventry Quarter Final Replay in 1998, when, as we walked back to the car, he said, "Along with Cardiff in 1971, that's about as good a night as I can ever remember at Bramall Lane."

So, let Jimmy be Jimmy, stop the flack for Fleck!
It's the hope that embitters some of the most ardent 😉

Egan was superb for us, over a few years too. Baldock, Basham, Egan, O’Connell, Enda.
Defensive heroes all.
Losing JoC through bad luck and gaining Brewster through bad judgement combined to make the tipping point of our fall from grace.
