Because the Prince doesn’t want to part with the money to get anyone decent in after reluctantly paying off Wilder

However he expects this dross to return first time of asking

Ahhh, the board are impressed with what Hecky is doing, asking him what we need to go forward, and Hecky told them to keep this squad together.

If he's on the shortlist and gets the nod we will be in L1 2022/23 season.

All he's added is a tactic that somehow our defence can play out from the back.
Yea that’s ok so long you don’t lose ball in critical positions

Tottenham have one central striker and even he is roaming around a lot.

In midfield they have some real class.

We play a back 5 to deal with hardly anyone in terms of orthodox strikers.

Then a midfield 2 to deal with their midfield talent - although to be fair Brewster and especially Osborn tried to help out from their positions.

This is the opposite of "packing the midfield", which is what a lot of inferior teams try to do when they are likely to struggle.

When it became obvious we couldn't build on the Brighton performance, we should have gone to Plan B, been cynical and at least tried to be competitive, tried to make it difficult for them.

To be fair to Heckingbottom he made two changes at the break and we played at least four different formations tonight, but when you do that it tends to get chaotic.

To be fair to him, he is changing things as games go on but it's clear as day that:

a. These players were bought and have been trained to only play one way in one formation. For the last four years. It's difficult to come in as a caretaker and change that at this stage.
b. They're nowhere near good enough to compete with world class players. They're, at best, mid-table championship players, with maybe one or two exceptions.

I don't want him to get the job but I think he's been left in a tight spot with these tossers.

TBF it's hard to spot the changes when the same dross continues.

There’s not even been a dead cat bounce under Hecky. I’m struggling to see after multiple thumpings any improvement, we’re not playing youngsters and we’re not doing much to tweak team selection and tactics.
