AhhYup
But despite all that Robbo he’s not a wanker
Calls Southgate's detractors 'Captain Hindsights' the proceeds to be 'Captain Hindsight'.
pommpey
So do INot Southgate's detractors, as such.
Specifically those criticising his team selection tonight.
Would you have tinkered with the side that won 6-2 a few days ago?
As said, I completely get the criticism of Southgate for not changing shape and / or making more ambitious subs.
The rest of it, is harder to understand and looks to be Captain Hindsight behaviour
Is it ?
Personal abuse ?
You called Southgate a wanker ?
A wanker ?
Isn’t that abuse ?
If you put it out there - as you do - don’t be so defensive when you get the same back
So do I
Fully
But calling him a wanker?
Report all you like - fellaFeller,
a. I am calling him a wanker. I am also discussing football whilst doing it.
b You are calling me a wanker, simply because of 'a'. Disagree with me, by all means. But don't abuse me. Tell me why I am wrong and offer your opinion and debate the issue (England's performance tonight and Southgate's lack of vision) but leave the personal abuse out of it.
Believe me, I have learned enough lessons on here doing exactly that, including serving bans.
Now do yourself a fucking favour and discuss tonight's match and leave what you feel about me out of it, eh?
You're still reported. Twice.
pommpey
He's a bit of a hecky isn't he? A decent lad, gets his team organised and motivated but can't really see what needs to change in the 90. Hecky largely gets away with it cause he currently has a good set of palyers and is working in the championship, against similar managers.Ludicrous how many Captain Hindsights come crawling out of the woodwork.
"Shouldn't have played Trippier, Sterling, Mount" ... "because they were shit."
That same team beat Iran 6-2 a few days ago. Pre-match, nobody was complaining about that unchanged starting XI.
His in match tactical changes and substitutions leave a lot to be desired, granted. It's always been his issue.
But those players haven't all become "poor" and "overrated" overnight.
Tonight was as bad as I've seen this group, particularly out of possession.
They showed absolutely no desire, or ambition.
However, I wouldn't be surprised to see them turn it around against Wales and put a performance in.
There's a lot of them that need a rocket and a few changes do now need to be made, but no need to write them off completely based on a bad night.
Report all you like - fella
You called Southgate a wanker -
Justify all you want - that’s abuse you’re happy to dish out whilst - debating football
Why not take your own advice and debate football and leave out the personal abuse about Southgate ?
I’ve called you the same - whilst outlining that I enjoy your posts but that imo you are a clown at times for being so personal .
If you don’t get that
Which I’m sure you do
Then - well
And so are youNow you are pursuing me with a vendetta.
I feel at ease to call Southgate a wanker much in the same vein that people on here call Neil Warnock, Barry Bannon, Jack Grealish, Jay McEverley and countless others more insulting terms. They aren't part of the discourse and likely won't be. And, If I call Southgate a wanker and he is part of the conversation I feel he will be well within his right to report me. That's how it works.
Now you are making this what it shouldn't be. Heed my request - leave me alone and stop abusing me. Discuss football with me and disagree with me but pack it in with the ad hominem. This thread - your thread - is about tonight's game, not me. You'll find - as do I - people don't share your point of view. Get over it.
Southgate - to me - is a wanker. I have explained why.
pommpey
Oh for goodness sake let's leave the name calling behind and talk more about the football or lack of it.Report all you like - fella

Pommps
You don’t get it
People including me , love your posts , enjoy your banter and your witty humour and analogies - fact
My point is that you are and should be above personal insults . Your opinions are valid and insightful and thought provoking and humorous . You articulate thoughts that most of us couldn’t match -thats why you often get - from
me anyway -responses of -this -
But you go too far - and imo you loo worse for it which is sad
You feel it is ok to call Southgate a wanker - I therefore feel it is ok they I call you the same for her reasons given
I’m actually not your enemy
Ok PommpsAnd I'm not yours. But if you say I should be above personal insults, it is somewhat hypocritical to offer personal insults in response. As said, Southgate is unlikely to venture on here, so he is unlikely to be personally affronted by what one, or more say on some dark corner of the internet. Go look at Twitter, right now. Go see what shit he is shipping along with every other player including your Man of the Match tonight. You off to take them on too?
I don't need you to moderate me on here. If you disagree with me say so. It helps if you can explain why too. But don't insult me.
pommpey
I cannot agree with your assessment of PH, but that is a completely different subject IMHO. However; your final description of Southgate is about the most accurate I have ever heard. 'A quarter final coach with a semi final squad' sums him up perfectly. He's a bit of a hecky isn't he? A decent lad, gets his team organised and motivated but can't really see what needs to change in the 90. Hecky largely gets away with it cause he currently has a good set of palyers and is working in the championship, against similar managers.
Southgate is trying to win the world cup and I just don't think he's quite good enough. He's probably a 1/4 final coach with semi final squad
Bellingham average? He is bossing Champions League games at 19.
Not Southgate's detractors, as such.

Southgates sense of adventure is limited to opting for a dessert. If you'd have been sat having a beer with me beforehand, you'd have heard my disgruntlement at the team selection. Hindsight only went to confirm my negativity. I know these are players playing at a high level week in and week out, and I know you don't get the chance to do that unless you have something about you but for me, there were four or five players in the line up who aren't that great, and that's probably why we'll be lucky to get beyond the quarter finals.
Sterling offers very little, Saka is the new Raheem, Rice is a plodder with no creativity, Mount is Rice without the energy and Bellingham, despite being the boss of the Champions League, looks like he's fucking terrified.
They fit into a system that the manager likes, personally I don't like it, I think it's as boring as fuck and has little chance of succeeding (winning things) but there you go. Like I said in an earlier post, I had a chat with Southgate and he was a nice feller, just wish he had a bit more adventure about him on a football pitch.
Save your energy and attention for when united resumes your only watching overpaid cunts it’s not worth arguing about. I couldn’t care less about this tournament more concerned about taking maximum points in 2 weeksYou called Southgate a wanker
A wanker ?
You’re (you’re) a wanker for that and look a fool , which is a shame - and I mean that
You’re very funny and at times a very insightful poster - fact
But - imo
You’re a wanker as your (not you’re) inputs loose credibility
And that’s a shame
A world semi when we played Iran level teams up-to Croatia - a Euro final that had us with home advantage in the whole tournament ( bar 1 game) he’s tactically limitedThat wanker that took us to the world semi and the euro final.FFS.
Depends on the opposition and the way they intend to play us - yesNot Southgate's detractors, as such.

Its pretty much textbook southgate ,he gets you to the knockout phases where his record is incomparableLudicrous how many Captain Hindsights come crawling out of the woodwork.
