Apparently he’s a really good guy. That’s what the Lille fans said.

Not going to take the piss. It hasn’t worked. He’s done us no harm in terms of his attitude. Wish him well and hope it can be a permanent move. Probably won’t be, looking at how much they have spent this summer - just 2m euros with 3m in receipts.

Either way GLTTL
GLLTL

Yes,GLTTL,hopefully it’s a permanent. Not worked out for either parties. He’s young and can learn. English football is far different than others and he looked like a rabbit in the headlights.

I hope he has a career but I think he just had too big a gap of not playing during the time he should have been developing

Please confirm this Foxy, I cant bare the blind hope!

If they are happy to pick up his contract on a permanent basis, then we should let him go on a free transfer. Put it down to a fuck up and we all move on. Draw a line under it and let a young man get on with his career whilst we move on from a reminder of what not to do in future (sign a player without properly scouting him first).

Their wiki page already updated to say Grbic in on loan from SU as their number 13… unlucky for them! Their #1 is their vice captain but he had 5 put past him by Fene a couple of weeks ago.

Given the vernacular that Davies is ‘number 2’ to Cooper does that mean he is their 13th choice keeper?

5 you say...... wait while Grbic gets in the net.....5, ha, childs play!

Any idea if this actually happened...? Just seemed to be one person tweeting it.

Even if its just a loan it can't do him any harm. Fair to say his confidence is rock bottom so things can only get better

I commented when we signed him tall goalkeepers don't work, they simply don't have the mechanics to get down low, (I got a few pelters for that), but it's a fact, they look good when coming out for high balls and usually distribute well (Gribic didn't do either) which makes them look good, maybe that's what we saw in him,
Give me a Ron Springett or an Alan Hodgkinson any time.
I wish him well wherever he ends up.

I too wish him well from the GU , but I think I posted something along the lines of if it’s our usual recruitment it will be because he is tall and goes down in stages. Yup. Correct.

Tend to agree. The sweet spot is probably 6'2 - 6'4.

Two of the best keepers ever were 6'4. Buffon and Schmeichel. I think Neuer is also 6'4. but I doubt you will find a better sweeper keeper who is taller than that.

Shilton before 1990 was amazing for a keeper his size. more for his positioning.

Shilton was a good keeper, but woeful in the Penalty shootout v West Germany and his positioning wasn’t that good for the goal we conceded.

I think people have blurred vision on their goal. Parker ran out, turned his back and then went 45 degrees up and down over shilton

. I semi agree on pens but he decided to wait but the kicks were all too good.

but as I said he is only remembered for 1990 which is a shame

Top five clean sheet keepers in the Premier League;

Petr Cech: 6ft 5
David James: 6ft 4
Mark Schwarzer: 6ft 4
David de Gea: 6ft 4
David Seaman: 6ft 4
