CW made it pretty clear in his latest interview that there have been "talks" with Wolves and left no doubt that we want the Eel-tank permanently...

It's ironic isn't it that we were so sure Morgan from Wigan was nailed on and potentially the answer.

We then ended up with some out of favour Wolves loanee who was coming back from injury.

How we huffed and puffed at the time.

Wolves fans say he's like another Neill Collins they said.

Not only is he a tank. A dominant beast he's also showing he's one of those centre halves who knows where the net is.

Despite the appearance of being last minute in nature, it's turning out to be the best piece of business of the entire transfer window!

Let's make sure we send Wolves a video of his back pass cock up as at the minute his price is going up by 100k per match .

I'll hold my hand up, thought he was a bad signing from what I'd seen and heard. Being proven very wrong so far.

Are Wolves able to recall him this season? I assumed not but wasn't certain.

He's got a better goals per game ratio than any of our strikers!

Maybe we could've done without him scoring these goals though - he was enough of a favourite already. Wolves will be able to name their price at this rate.

He will be sorely missed if another club nicks him in Jan

I'm fearful of another Champ club turning his head and the club need to do all they can to convince him is future is with us

I am sure the penny pincher & sons will find a way to make 50p as he disappears into yonder

Not sure but thought I'd read he can sign for another club in Jan, but that may be a pre-contract agreement?

Regardless, the two owners need to convince him his future is at the Lane

That's a blow. I am certain he will get Championship offers in January, we would need to be second and well clear of third for the owners to take a punt on the wages, and if the offer comes from a parachute payment club we would not be able to compete. May have to enjoy him while we can.

That is the drawback of having a player on loan. Although as many like to point out with previous players, he could just be playing for a move.

I hope we keep him but this is Sheffield United and we have McCabe at the helm.

I guess you can say Vale didn't really stretch him today, but that's about as close to a 10/10 as a centre back performance will ever get.

I don't think we should keep EEL at any price, but at the right price - the mentality has changed now at the Lane and I for one trust CW to make the right decision. As long as were getting the value for money that CW talks about, I'm happy to trust him.

EEL is a colossus! Just the type of no-nonsense, dominating centre half we've missed since Maguire left.

He will undoubtedly attract the interest of other clubs, which makes it all the more critical that we get a permanent deal completed as soon as possible.

If he stays with us till May, it's very likely he'll be playing with us in the Championship next season.

I can't argue with that, just don't want us paying over the odds.

It is a season long loan and I'm pretty sure they can't recall him. http://www.sufc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/sheffield-united-ethan-ebanks-landell-3284431.aspx

Don't overestimate the possible Championship interest either, he's not been here long and he's not exactly looked a cut above the division. Although I expect he might start to towards the end of the season. Which is why I hope we sign him permanently in January.
If Kenny Jacket rocks up at Rotherham, do we need to be worried?

With the attention he's getting here we have a lot more to be worried about than the manager of a team at the arse end of the championship who just happens to say he thinks he's a good player.
We've got to hope that it looks like we're nailed on for promotion at the end of the year, then he may consider staying even if championship offers come in. With the greatest of respect I would think that the majority of offers will come in from lower end championship teams.

These kind of comments are too simplistic.

Are you saying if our top earner is on £6K a week
And his agent asks for £15K a week we should break the budget, get in to debt we can't afford and risk the future of the club by giving players what ever they want.

I'd hoped those days had gone.
Wilder has made it clear he doesn't want mercenaries here.
If EEL's only motivation is money then I'm sure Wilder will show him the door and bring someone else that's committed to the club.

Very positive thinking young man! ;)
