He's out of contract at the end of the season I think? So good chance of us keeping him on, same with Lafferty.

Good business on Wilders part, don't dislike having loan players but when it's situations like this there's relatively little to lose.
Just hope their respective clubs do well without them.

Brick wall yesterday. First half he got out to the edge of the box and blocked a couple of shots. Proper defender that likes to defend. To him them blocks are like goals to a striker.

If he's keeps up his current form we would need to be a Champioship side next season to have a chance of holding on to him.

I think Halford. I think mediocrity with a long throw.

They just get better and better, don't they?...

As someone who appreciates a midfielder who can offer something going forward and defending, I'm a little surprised to hear you didn't rate Halford.

He could have had a better touch and he should have turned up at Wembley, but I personally thought he was one of our better players that year.

I was a bit worried yesterday when he got clattered, he was down for a while Dr came on.
He just gets up and carries on.
I can see him becoming a bit of a fans favourite.

According to Wiki (not a great source), Wolves have an option of triggering another year at the end of his current deal. If he keeps performing for us they'll probably see that as a no brainer, especially given it'll mean they're due a fee.

Look how thick that facial hair's growing in. That's the mark of a good defender right there.

When the teams stepped out on Saturday he looked a size bigger than everyone else on the pitch. And not in a Baxter, get in shape, kind of way.

The Wolves fans' views were mixed on him, but I posted in Roy's thread that a mate of mine who follows them really rates this lad. Think he got a bit unlucky with a bobble in the box where he could've cleared it in the first half on Saturday (led to a good save from Moore). Other than that he was close to flawless for me. Worth watching just before our goal where he wins possession for us by shrugging aside their midfielder, a little before Duffy plays it to Sharp. And getting a couple of stitches rather than shirk a challenge, let's be honest, that'll take you a long way with the fans at the Lane.

Early days and I'm sure he'll have a few questionable moments before the end of the season, but if he'd been getting skinned and outmuscled all afternoon no one would've hesitated to point that out. So far looks like a great move by Wilder.

And to think he was about Plan E or F.... shows we finally have a manager with a clue what he's doing in the transfer market.

I can see Utd putting a sneaky little bid in for him in January to try and grease the wheels to get him permanent - First impressions are good, but lets see how he is faring in deepest December before we get that mouldy groat from under the floor board that the board have been trying to hide from Wildthing.

Ha! I read that as "Mouldy Goat," initially - :)

Thought it was some voodoo curse the club was trying to rid itself of

He also had one comedy moment in the second half when he misjudged a ball, tried to recover and fell flat on his face. But I reckon we can forgive him given the blocks and headers he made.

Worrying similarities to when we had Cahill on loan. Hope he is enjoying playing under wilder and in a winning side (since he's come in anyway)

That sort of thing might make the difference between him agreeing to sign or not. He's at an age where he could do with regular first team football and he'd certainly get that here. Would certainly be nice to have 2 centre backs we can trust

Surely this club wouldn't do anything as silly as signing two decent young centre halves on permanent transfers...

My mate thought he had a 'nightmare' first half against Bristol Rovers
We had a major disagreement on that score
