David McGoldrick

Did McGoldrick ever really rely on athleticism?

I doubt he's much worse than he was when we released him.

He's a much better footballer than either of our 10s.

Also, don't forget - he left Derby in League 1, having bagged 22 times in 39 games, to join Notts County in League 2.
He didn't fall through the leagues.

*He only didn't get many games for us in 21/22 because we had MGW, Ndiaye & Berge playing in a similar area.
He’s been brilliant for us and the last few seasons but I don’t think you can really make a comparison between a league two player at the end of his career and two players who’ve both had a good season at the top end of the championship

Booooooooo.

At the time, and with the emergence of Ili, I thought it was the right thing for us to part ways.

Turns out I woz wrong !!

For some of our fans the best thing these American owners can do is to invent a massive time machine stick it in the club car park and go back in time to sign players that left years ago, then at least it will stop the "Didzy" scored, sharp scored posts, every other bloody weekend, seriously is there any other fan base that does this, I don't look at other forums but is there a borrusia dortmund forum with Haaland scored again posts on it or a spurs forum with someone saying kane scored every bleeding weekend, along with a video

No, no other fan base on earth has respect and admiration for their previous players

When kenny Dalglish goes back to Anfield they throw shit at him and boo

I don't t think they do do that, it would be on the news, and yes having respect for previous players when they return as a player or fan I understand but posting every time one scores it's fucking pathetic and that's the reason why we as a club never ever move forward, we hate change, we hound out anyone who we don't understand oh he's foreign or never played for us before or isn't a fan so therefore he's wank, the mentality is pathetic but hey ho

I think the only thing that could Cheer me up this weekend is if at least 5 former players score in the lower leagues for us this weekend, hopefully someone will post on here to let me know

I love the order you have put that in; I would assume you would boo first then throw your faeces, but I think your idea is better, the booing is just the cherry on the insult cake.

As to the post you were replying to, I don’t think there is any harm celebrating a good ex-player still doing well, plus all his goals are brilliant to watch. And you must hate that “ain’t got Woodward and Currie” song.

Watching David McGoldrick score goals genuinely does cheer me up.
Has it always been this way right throughout his career, including his very brief spell at Hillsborough or is it a fairly recent phenomenon?

Think it's all in your head to be honest
If people in a forum of a team they support can't discuss an ex player scoring a worldy then it's pointless having one

Yes it needs a 15 page thread and thats the only reason to have a forum, why else would we have a Sheffield united forum other than to post videos of 4th division goals scored 😂😂

I didn't say it's the only reason
Again I think it's all in your head

The shame of it is that they rested him for the playoffs to not risk him getting injured. They've lost Didsy to injury and Jotta to suspension. County are up against it. Good luck to them. A proper club with decent down to earth fans.

Unlucky Pies. 1-0 down after the first leg and went into the second leg with no strikers, much like we did against Forest when we beat them then lost on penalties.

If Notts were to lose to anyone I'd like it to be Wimbledon though. Obvious connections between us and Wimbledon, albeit the original Wimbledon.

Feel for Didz. He's had a blinding season, but doesn't get to influence it's conclusion because of injury.

County seem a decent club, but I do have a soft spot for Wimbledon (as will many others I imagine). The whole fiasco with Milton Keynes was a fucking disgrace - that's the sort of thing that happens in American sports, but it isn't typically tolerated over here. Nice that the club that emerged from the fallout is doing well for itself. Hopefully they win the final now as well.

Shame about that

All the teams who were home 2nd leg have gone through, apart from Orient. And they should have lost over 180 minutes too
