I think people forget that he was only signed as cover for JOC at the time. He barely played in his first season with us.
Doesn't excuse why we never replaced him, however most on here were quite happy with him the Hecky promo season and even the disastrous season after when he was lauded as one of the only players that cared.
Nevertheless, I'm glad he moved on.

I think most DO remember that he was signed as cover. The baffling thing is why he became a mainstay.

As I’ve said before, it was always noticeable that his best games were when we lost.

St Andrews seems to make Robinson go crazy. Mad cunt. Would still have him back here over McGuinness though

MM is 24 and Robbo 32. Only one of them has the stature of a centre half and the scope to improve.

I’m not going to claim he’s been anything more than ok so far, but I can’t see a case to swap.

Let's not forget, he was our club captain. The leader of our club, the culture carrier, the motivator, the one who is expected to lead by example...

As others have said, based on the past 6 months, i do wonder if there is more to it and he's struggling with other things. Because if not, what an absolute abhorrent man he's become...
I was one of JLT's biggest critics on here. I posted on a thread earlier in the season when some unwarranted comments were made about him. It has been said his mother was ill last year. Whether this is the reason for the increase in his anger remains to be seen. Yesterday won't have helped.

I'm only thinking shorter term when I say that. For this season I'd take Robinson, with Wilder as manager. Safer option. Ultimately, we did well in Robinson's time at this level and people forget that. Mee in the middle and Robinson LCB is more natural than McGuinness CB and Mee LCB. Lack of height, but solid and experienced

Longer term yes, McGuinness obviously, but I've yet to see him excel in any department and he is a very strange one to spend any significant fee on

I definitely think the experience of Mee closes the height gap as it were although he isn’t 6’4 his ability to read the game gives him that upper hand. McGuinness could go one of 2 ways as always but at that height and playing alongside experienced players you would like to think he could do something. We also have Zätterström to step up too

Yes, aerially Mee is more like a 6"3 asset

His headed clearances are precise, safe and accurate - he's authoritative and assured. Whereas McGuinness's are far less convincing and should be better given his height

I commented earlier in the season when he was still with us that I felt he was increasingly mentally unstable. His reactions or rather over reactions to referees decisions was embarrassing and disturbing. Is it born out of frustration that his age is catching up on him exposing his lack of ability more and more.? Whatever I think he needs some serious help. Missing the next four games after todays second red may not get back from that.
Yes his behaviour in the past 12 months made me go from thinking hes shit and a bomb scare to thinking he's a absolute brainless thug who I detest

The only culture he carries you’d need Penicillin for…

They are, but that’s a skill honed with 10 years more experience and 280 EPL games

Mcg’s getting the ball away, where to will come with experience mate
