Hi Brighton fan here good to see you doing well in the cup and good luck against spurs this week, COG is now getting a lot of love here now he's been given the chance to shine under Houghton as sammi didn't give him a seconds thought . We all would love him to stay now we know what he's capable of and if you look at this you can see why http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/11748513.Hughton_hoping_O_Grady_will_stay_with_Albion/ Good luck the rest of the season hope to see you back in the champ soon.
Key word in that newspaper clip is HOPING well keep hoping because COGs coming to the Lane deals done

I don't know where you've got this information from but from this article http://mobile.seagulls.co.uk/news/article/chris-ogrady-lets-take-momentum-from-arsenal-2225734.aspx it doesn't sound like someone on their way out the club in my opinion, mackail Smith has never cut it at this level so wouldn't be surprised if he's on his way out with he's contract up at seasons end. I hope COG is staying as he's the sort of player we've been crying out for in in the market I've said our squad is capable of a top 6 finish under the right manager and Houghton has proved it by getting the best out of the team

Sadly for us Gullside, I think your right and to be honest I think COG would be crazy to consider the move now, circumstances seem to have completely altered . Perhaps we should now focus our attention on the other lad you have mentioned, you never know we might get his career back on track at this level.

All these comments coming from COG are the noises I'd expect coming from a player who's being pursued by another club.
He's hardly going to say "I can't wait to get away from here" is he? If the transfer fell through the fans would slaughter him on his return.
Personally I don't think he'd come (but I was unsure Brayford would come) but these noises coming out of COG and the Brighton press are nothing unexpected.

In a previous life I worked in recruitment. So often, after receiving a job offer candidates would have doubts about moving, receive reassurances from their current employer that all would be well and things would be different in the future, and get gittery about moving. My advice was always the same - employers don't like losing good staff and will try hard to keep you, but if you stay it's likely that the original reasons for wanting to leave will return. Therefore make the move and be done with it

Of course if they didn't move I didn't make my fee so it's hardly surprising that was my advice. Hopefully CoG's agent is doing the same thing

Player , agent , wife , money , length of contract , will be the main factors . SUFC is just another club for COG to ply his trade at.

Harsh but true.

You don't accept the conspiracy theorists argument, then? ;)

Is that the one where Spurs are told to lose tonight so the FA can re-stage the Khaki Final on its 100th anniversary in return for guaranteeing planning permission for their new stadium?

Thats a shame.
Leaves our list of realistic decent strikers a bit low on the ground.
Let's hope there's something in the Doyle rumours.
I'd be tempted to have a pop at Cody macdonald.

Hope we don't panic buy I.e. Higdon but I hope we can get a sound striker in before the JTW ends

Doyle would be about the only one left now who is a provan scorer at this level

I don't fancy Davies a decent footballer but not enough goals on his record, TBH if we can't sign Doyle I would rather wait a few weeks and get a loan in to the end of the season than spend money on Davies.

So much for a deal being pretty much done for O'Grady then.

I guess we move on to other targets.
