According to the Mirror...

We are heading the chase to land Man U winger Chris Eagles, who will be allowed to leave for a reasonable fee.

With Keef wanting to leave I can see this having a hint of truth in.

BUT it is from the daily mirror

Would be a very good signing

Although if Young's worth £9m what's "reasonable" these days

I reckon he could be picked up for about £1.5 million

If we get him it'll be a good job Rhino's left us - I reckon he might have something to say to him from the match against Watford last season when he got sent off :)

i was only on about eagles today wit a few mates saying that when he played for watford the first time before he went to pigsbro and we played them at vicarage road and he hit the cross bar that i'd like to see him down at the lane

would be ok i guess at least we would have a right winger

An OK signing but we can get better surely.

webber on right wing?

Zoltan Gera, but boro might get there first for £2million.

Scored goals last season in the prem.
Would have liked him start of the season.

Chris Eagles is a very able young player. Whether he could potentially step into Gillespie's boots is another thing, but it would be a good signing.

i personally think eagles would be better than keef, don't think he would have any problems stepping into his boots.

I'd also prefer Eagles to Ifill.

Id advise you to look at the playing records of both players.

Ifill was a far better championship player than Eagles, I dont see whats changed now.

which is why ifill has gone back to the championship.

And thats why Eagles has constantly been loaned out to championship clubs.

I'd prefer open heart surgery with a chainsaw and no anaesthetic to Ifill.
Yes, I would also prefer to see a chainsaw taken to your chest.

Remind me of Ifills record for us last season?

Ifill was great last season but he's gone lets forget him!

I thik eagles would be a great signing i think he is a really good player :)

It was not what Ifill did when he was good that blades will remember, because he was a donkey a lot more than he was any good.

Granted he scored some important goals, and some good assists. But it was plain to see he was not gonna be a premiership player, which is sad because i originally thought he had the potential to be so when we first signed him.

I think a major problem was with Ifill having such a great debut for us, and then i think a lot of people compared him to that.

Who's a grumpy little boy?

When Ifill played well he was exciting to watch and fairly effective, but when he was shite he was really really shite.

this is probably because he's on the Man Utd books?

Wouldn't say no to Eagles or Evans joining.
