Outgoing? Che Adams

Blackpool had a policy of not dealing with agents at all. That has not served them very well.

I have no problem with agents. You just need to negotiate with them in your best interests. The word "no" is useful.
I agree that it hasnt served Blackpool well which is sad.

You have no problems with agents but you have problems with the SUFC board? For me it is definitely the other way round. Football doesnt need agents but every club need a board of directors and a chairman.

It's not just all down to dreaded agents. Sheff Utd sign players from the lower/Scottish leagues with the open acknowledgement that we will be a 'stepping-stone' club for the player and we give them assurances/release clauses that we won't stand in their way when a so called big club comes calling. (waves a bit of cash in front of their agent). That's why they sign for us.

I would imagine this is what we did with Adams, hence why he signed for us rather than say Forest or Leicester.

I like what I hear from Adkins which is a bit more progressive - when talking about Adams he said something like "Adams will play at the higher level, we want him to take us with him". ie align their aims with ours rather than just being supine when dealing with players.

I still can't stand Rankine for his utterly sh!te non performances for us as a player notwithstanding him ripping our best young talent away now he is an agent.

Surprise, surprise

Sunday People:

"SU starlet Che Adams is wanted by injury hit Bournemouth....................................."

Adams will go in the next transfer window for about £1.5 million as we can't keep a player who doesn't want to stay. The clappers will say it's good business for a 19 year old and convince themselves the money will be spent in building a promotion team for next season. We will invest in a couple of mediocre players and struggle to a mid-table finish. End of.

Some might say that's quite a cynical post ghandi

Me however, would tend to agree with your comments

That would give us a loan budget of around 750 k then if the last few loan window activities are to followed

Just read small piece in morning paper saying Bournemouth interested in che Adams

as they have two strikers out injured, I then look up while watching Manchester derby

and a latest score comes up, Bournemouth 1 Spurs 5, load of bollocks, int it?

Was a pig generated rumour Boxer, keep up
They should have said Villa. The idea that Sherwood would think the answer to his problems is to buy a L1 striker is almost believable.

Luckily I read somewhere that we no longer need to sell our best players so nothing to worry about.

He might well go somewhere at some point and we can have the Murphy "debate" all over again. Yippee.

There was an article in the Star a while ago saying he joined us rather than Newcastle bc he wanted a chance of first team football.

He's fast improving, not least I imagine due to the coaching he's getting, but he's nowhere near the finished article.

Pray tell, why do you put "debate" in quote marks?

Che is a great predatory goal scorer but I saw what Adkins was talking about yesterday in that he needs to work on his general play in particular his defensive play. He was flat footed and should have made a challenge on the player that put the ball into the box for O'Brian to score the first. Caught napping!

I would be surprised if he hasn't got as soon as the Janurary transfer window opens.

Let's face we it we are a middling third tier club unable to keep up with giants like Walsall, Gillingham or Burton so Christ knows what it would be like if a genuinely big side like Bournemouth came in for him.

I hope the scouts were watching him yesterday. He had a game akin to Campbell Ryce's the other night. A stinker basically.

Adams is good once he gets the ball under control, but his first touch is generally poor. He needs to work on this if he wants to play at a higher level.

He's a long, long way from the finished article and if we could get say £4m and him back on loan, as things stand, that would be a good deal IMO. He struggles with too many of the basics, we badly need to strengthen elsewhere and we can fantasize about reinvesting the fee doing that.

How did your new team, Hallam get on yesterday?

Shit. Never realised that until you mentioned it just this once.

What has Hallam's result got to do with this thread unless Che has been sold to Hallam today.

He's a long, long way from the finished article and if we could get say £4m

We wouldn't get £4m for a player if we had the next Messi on our books.. We will settle £1.5m plus spurious add ons.
