Updated following Game 24 - WBA (H)

For clarity, yellow cards in the league do not lead to bans in any other competition, such as the FA Cup. And yellow cards in the cups don't count towards the league. So if Gus gets a two-game ban soon, one of them will NOT be the FA Cup game v Cardiff, and a yellow in that game would not mean he gets a two-game ban in the league.

I'm just glad that Ryan One is finally on the list; his absence was playing havoc with my OCD.

Some of the criticism of Gus is laughable. He tracks back when others don’t and the majority of his bookings have been ‘taking one for the team’.

Some of the bookings he has had have been laughable and were never bookings in the first place.

Watch any of our matches and see how long it takes for the opposition player to be booked for any type of foul. Typically they don't get booked until after 60 minutes but we usually get booked in the first half for the first offence.

A titbit of info as we approach the JTW, any yellow cards accumulated in the premier league do not follow that player to the EFL divisions. So, if you see us linked with a prem player and are concerned about their disciplinary record, they can get 10 yellows before any ban with us.

Edit: I bet my source for card info doesn't take the above into account and I have to do it manually every game :(

Most of his bookings have been petulant and unnecessary, he needs to make a huge effort not to get booked against Sunderland so he doesn't miss Watford. We should have more players available for Norwich and onwards.

Worse case senario he gets two yellows versus Sunderland and misses the next three games.

Moronic individuals criticising Hamer, some of the bookings are stupid but some of them are shit referees being shit. He’s our best player by a mile.

Many are unnecessary due to the lack of danger presented by his victim.
No one tracks back & tackles as much as O'Hare and he's got 2 yellows.
Hamer's are often just childish petulance coz he's too unfit to catch up with the victim , so lazily grabs them or takes them out , in midfield, right under the refs nose.
He's a Mr Angry and it will cost us.

He's out best attacking player but I'm not sure why he's not allowed to be criticised if his lack of discipline means he'll miss 3-5 games suspended?

I’d say describing him as a “Liability” and “not fit enough” is a bit over the top. He plays 90 mins most games and is our best player, the opposite of a “liability”.

I thought I'd do post on the card statuses of the rumoured incoming players. I've just picked those rumoured on here. As to the validity of the rumour 🤷‍♂️

Remember that, as per page 5 of this FA document, only cards received in the EFL Leagues count towards EFL League suspensions. Therefore any cards a player has received in the EPL, overseas leagues, or in a cup do not count towards a suspension playing in the League for Sheff Utd.

With that in mind:

Sorry perhaps I should have read further back but Gus is on 9 yellows after 26 games so what happens after game 27 if a) he doesn't get a yellow, b) he gets a yellow c) he gets 2 yellows = red and d) he gets a straight red?

They're the card rules, per the FA, so to answer your points

A) he stays on 9 yellows and remains 1 away from a ban
B) he goes on to 10 yellows and gets a 2 game ban
C) only one counts towards the yellow count, so he would get a ban for the red and also a 2 game ban for going on to 10 yellows
D) he gets whatever the ban is for the red, and stays on 9 yellows

Interested that Tom Davies is actually the most carded in Cards /90

Hamer should look to get booked against Swansea

We should manage Hull (H) and Derby (A) without him

Just make sure Cannon and Brereton are in for Hull

Think we need BBD in first. Once he has signed and able to play I think Gus should get a yellow and miss two of Hull, Derby and Portsmouth
