I’ve heard quite a few people talking about potential suspensions for the derby and saying we are in the clear now unless someone gets a red. Not quite true. If Blaster gets a yellow in the next two, he will miss out. So, fingers crossed. I think it’s really important this lad plays in his first derby

Maybe they are all too thick to be able to cut out the unnecessary cards.

Thanks for this cappy, we seem to picking up alot of yellows so keen to keep a watch on this table
 
Can’t believe Slimane managed to get two cards. Did he even play two league games for us?

Edit: just seen the appearances too. I presume this includes Norwich apps as he’s only on loan from us.
 
It’s too easy to get a yellow card these days. My lad is 16 and got booked on the weekend for nothing and it’s filtering through to grass roots as well. Players shouldn’t get booked for waving imaginary yellow cards. I’ve also always hated the yellow card for taking your shirt off but that’s because the sponsors on the shirts have too much power.

Most yellow cards these days are because the players are thick (ie kicking ball away, gobbing off).

A lot are also for fouls, but not even bad ones. Players go down from barely a touch and try to get their opponents booked.

That isn't necessarily being thick. We asked them to throw heart and soul into it, so some degree of shouting displeasure at a decision isn't surprising when the bloods up.


On a tangent, against Stoke, we had been given a free kick, up near the halfway line. The ball was at a Stoke players feet near the corner. He was on his own. No other players close. He stepped over the ball and plodded back to the halfway line..so their keeper had to come across and get it. This delayed restart loads. Not sure if the rule is kicking it away, or general shit-housery???
 
The Hamer booking at Middlesbrough was shocking. He barely kicked the ball, it moved about 4 yards

Hasn't turned out bad for us. Not available for Stoke at home but available for Blackburn and Bristol away and against the pigs.
 
In the EFL, a player who receives five yellow cards before the 19th game of the season will be suspended for one match. If a player receives 10 yellow cards by the 37th game, they will be suspended for two matches. A player who receives more than 15 yellow cards in a season will be suspended for three matches.
 
In case anyone was wondering, just Bernard at risk of missing the derby from a 5x🟨 suspension. Good defender for them. Wonder if Danny benches him tonight? I doubt it.
