Could do with Wilder not getting booked during this particularly tough 4-game run. His presence on the touchline is critical

When do the yellows reset mate? I know at a point they aren't as easy to get bans.

They already did that first 'reset' mate, after 19 games. Before then, if you got 5 yellows, you got a 1 game suspension. Now it's:

  • Up to and including 37 games
    • Players who receive 10 yellow cards will be suspended for 2 games
  • Up to and including 46 games
    • If a player receives 15 yellow cards in the 46-game regular season, they will be suspended for 3 games

Sorry bit thick on this.. so what happens when it resets after 19 games? Do the amount of yellows disappear on a player?

No, it's not a reset mate. All yellows received still count, it's just that if you receive your 5th yellow after game 19, you don't get a 1 match suspension anymore. The limit after 19 games changes to 10 yellows, but when you reach 10, you get a 2 game ban.

Two examples:

Gus has received 7 yellows this season in the league. He got his 5th well before game 20 and so he got a 1 match ban. His total yellow cards does not reset, it keeps going up every time he gets one. If he gets 3 more before game 38 (total=10), he will get a 2 game ban.

Peck has received 4 yellows this season in the league. He obviously has not got 5 before game 20, so when he gets his 5th, he does not get a 1 game ban. However, if he gets to 10 yellows before game 38, he will get a 2 game ban.

Looking at these yellows , we could be in serious shit when we lose Hamer , Souza & Anel for 2 games.
Hopefully not simultaneously.
With Blaster out , one of the January signings must be in midfield.

Hamer is annoying as he gets booked for stupid reasons, but I guess you have to take rough with the smooth with a player like him
CW said a while ago he's had a word about discipline.

I have the impression that Hamer gets the most yellows for petulant "revenge" tackles.
I can't see how fining him will work , footballers are so rich.
And I can't see what useful sanction CW can impose

(Harsher than sticking him out on the L wing)

Completely agree re his revenge/emotional fouls leading to yellows. He has been better recently though, if you look at the season as a whole

His most recent 3 bookings have come against very tough opposition, so it'll be interesting to see how he goes in the next 4 games

Another silly booking again today and very lucky to not see red with yet another one.
If I were him I,d be looking to get booked against Watford...with Cardiff int cup...he,d only miss Norwich league game..problem is the way he,s going he,ll probably get to 15 and miss 3 more games.

He hasn't played well for age's, l think he's got the hump because he's stuck out on the left when he wants to play centrally, he needs to remember there's no l in team

Updated following Game 24 - WBA (H)

For clarity, yellow cards in the league do not lead to bans in any other competition, such as the FA Cup. And yellow cards in the cups don't count towards the league. So if Gus gets a two-game ban soon, one of them will NOT be the FA Cup game v Cardiff, and a yellow in that game would not mean he gets a two-game ban in the league.

If he wants to play centrally he should consider demonstrating that he's capable of keeping hold of the ball more than 20% of the time

On a positive note, Sydie and Alfie have impressive yellows per 90, given how much they've played and how inexperienced they are in senior football

Dunno why everybody raves about him. Yeah he's one of our better players, but dont think he is that good.

He can pack a punch with his end product but when that's not there his main contribution is getting booked and giving the ball away. Yet he seems immune to criticism
