He could do a job as a back up in league one. He’s not a regular starter at the minute anyway. He said in a post match interview yesterday that he isn’t ready to quit yet & he’s hoping for another year with Doncaster. I’m not sure he’ll still cut it in L1, might be better going somewhere like Chesterfield for a year or two.
Yeah, heaven forbid we bring in a club legend with over 250 goals, a UEFA A Licence, and his own football academy to help our young strikers actually hit the net. Madness, really.I await more Bladey bladey cries of give him a job here as an attacking coach![]()
That keeper was determined he wasn't going to be beaten at his near post wasn't he![]()
I know this is League 2 however not much difference in League 1 either but it goes to show the naivety and poor positional awareness of keepers further down the pyramid, you are giving a striker like Billy Sharp approximately 6 yards to shoot at, the shot wasn't the greatest but it was tucked where the keeper couldn't get anywhere near it. If he is stood a yard to his right, Billy has no chance! That keeper was determined he wasn't going to be beaten at his near post wasn't he![]()
He could teach the older "alleged" strikers a thing or two as most of them carnt hit a barn door with a banjo.Yeah, heaven forbid we bring in a club legend with over 250 goals, a UEFA A Licence, and his own football academy to help our young strikers actually hit the net. Madness, really.

I remember being stood in the wrong place in a game at Rotherham. It's crazy isn't it, positioning is the most important part of goalkeeping. Doesn't matter how good your reactions are if you're stood in the wrong place!!
If you were meant to be in Rotherham, and you ended up somewhere else - absolutely anywhere else, at all - you were definitely in the right place!I remember being stood in the wrong place in a game at Rotherham.
I was in Barnsley…
