Billy Sharp

I went to Posh yesterday to see Billy's last game for Donny. They're my second team and have been since the 80's. He was brilliant yesterday. He made the game his and was inches off that fourth goal, thanks only to a liner's decision.

As a Blade, this season has been all a bit cr*p and I'm tired of it tbh, but woke up today smiling still about yesterday and Billy.

That what the great players do for us. Sadly, IMO we don't have similar at Bramall Lane right now, but so hope he goes on to get that elusive goal and a few more somewhere else.

I've been lucky enough to see some proper players at SUFC -Currie, Woodward, Booker, Bash', Didzy, Ndiaye, Brian Deane (THE only Deano!) with his mate Agana, and Billy is in there too. Not one of our current team deserve to be in my list.

There's so much about the modern game that gets on my nerves and hate the PL with a passion, but every now and then a player comes along who changes it all up.

They make the difference.

A proper Blades legend.

I can see him going to York City. His experience would be invaluable to them, and not only would it mean he would score his 300th goal, he could easily get to 325
Hadn't seen this when I did this post

Genuinely incredible player. Somehow he got better as he got older. I think (I might be wrong) that he's the top scorer in the EFL this century (since 2000).

Top bloke, incredible footballer. Never quite good enough to score regularly in the premier league, but there's no shame in that.

Blade, goalscorer, absolute legend. I always liked the "fat lad from sheffield" chant. Fuckinghell I wish I was as "fat" as Billy Sharp, 2 months older than me! 😂

(that said, he still owes me a pint)

I think he’s the only player to score a hat-trick in his teens, 20s, 30s and 40s.

ChatGPT can’t find anyone else who’s achieved this remarkable feat.

Legend.

Who else in English football has living legends still in the game playing at the same if not slightly lower level than our football club. It irks me that we don’t still have Norwood, Egan, Sharp, McGoldrick, Moore, McBurnie and dare I even say Lundstram still at this football club. There’s no way that a lineup featuring all of those players wouldn’t have done better than we have this season.
