Bettis: Chris, it's Steve. They say you can't have any of those players.

This is the equivalent of when you go to buy a car, you reach an impasse with the salesman and he says 'I'll just go and speak to the manager and see if there's anything we can do.'

He then goes and stands in an empty room for 10 minutes on his own before coming back and saying 'we can knock an extra tenner off the price'

It isn’t really an impasse if the salesman is going to check with his manager, knowing full well that he can knock the price down. It isn’t the best analogy really, but that’s to be expected.
 
Calling bullshit on this one. Its not a plausible notion for people who are trying to buy an organisation are having an input into how it is run.

If we're not buying players until it's done, then maybe, but then vetoing players - bullshit.

Tomorrow is the day after contracts expire so the start of when u wd expect free agents to be signing. I thought a week was a reasonable period to see what signings come in. That is assuming we have actually been talking to any free agents, which is a reasonable assumption given we have released 19 players

And even if your hypothetical list did all leave, it doesn't change that fact that we need to recruit double figures.
 
I’m worried, if something doesn’t happen this week. Whether that be 2/3 coming in or an update on the takeover we’re going to be so unprepared.

The players were linked with are a drop down from the ones going out. If reports are right you’ve then got Anel, Souza, Hamer, Grbic all wanting out.

The biggest pre season of our recent history & we seemingly can’t get signing anyone for money until the takeovers complete.
 
No worries, Wilder said a while back "they're queuing up to come and join us, according to Tom Davies", maybe they're on holiday or it's just another Wilder wind up, like Jebbison 72hrs!

You’d hope so. He’s gone quiet on takeover stuff for a while.
 
Takeover beeing quite .theyre doing the job. Much more worried if leaks were all around.
