I doubt we’ve broken any rules at all.

They’re just having a whinge because they know players they’d like would rather wait on us than sign for them now.

Look at Chansiri using Paxo. I bet he has no official contract with the club until a deal gets struck.

Didn't know Leeds had an interest. They appear to be splashing the cash again, nothing new there.
They've got stupidly rich owners, plus they're getting 40mil for Summerville.

Strikes me as similar to Birmingham in L1 - effectively just buying the league

In my time following United, Leeds have always had a big budget with exception when they almost went bust, shame.

Back in 1990 when I first started supporting United we got promoted with the same points as them but they spent over £4m, a huge amount at the time and as a second division club. We spent about £400,000.

Still my favorite ever Blades season! Shame I was only 9!

But now as you say they're even more rich than normal Leeds standards.

Would us selling Osula (who I like, but has yet to score a league goal for us) really lead to the takeover bid collapsing?
Because it gives PA the funds to run the club for longer without a takeover. New owners playing hardball on the offer and PA can use Osula funds to run the club until he finds a better offer (best case scenario) have one more tilt at the Premier League (worst case scenario)

You can read it either way.

The “sale” in the second paragraph could refer to either Osula or the takeover. The “stall or even kill the deal” again could refer to Osula or the takeover.

I did initially think the stall/kill was referring to the Osula sale. But as the article suggests the Osula deal could have an impact on the takeover, I’m now thinking it means if the Prince sells Osula then the takeover might be off.

Seems a bit extreme to pull out of the takeover due to selling Osula!

Well if we had a decent owner who communicated with fans, we might get clarity, unfortunately he uses a mouthpiece. Pretty sure he'll put his own spin on it later.

If its a sticking point in negotiations then to be honest we need to pull the plug on negotiations and live within our means
Sell to survive

Sounds like these people are willing to. Gamble the future of the club before they have even come through the door and I for one don't want them anywhere near in that case

Exactly. I want new ownership & think the Prince’s time is up. But it has to be the right ownership and the “anyone but the Prince” brigade don’t seem to understand that it would be quite possible to get worse owners who make an even bigger fuck up of things. Unfortunately, we won’t know whether that’s the case until If & when it happens.

Exactly how I feel too. Be careful in what you are wishing for.

I have to agree and like I just posted elsewhere they don't own the club. They have been warned by the EFL not to meddle in the clubs affairs until they have ownership.

I'd say I'm 99% certain Nixon copied this idea from our forum or from our Twitter.

I don't get the hold up if it isn't to do with approval. Buyers make an offer Prince says Yes or No. If offer isn't enough for the Prince then the buyers either improve their offer or go away. Simple enough! Except for maybe two things One the Prince wants to retain some percentage of the club then there would be all sorts of shit to sort out eg does he have to match monies put into the club by the new owners? Or second, the Prince wants a clause in the contract that gives him more money if we win promotion to the Premier League Again this would complicate the deal.

I'm very conflicted. Feels like we're slowly circling towards a plug hole under the current ownership. Getting promoted only kept our heads above water. Could've turned very sour had that not happened then we'd have probably been saying it couldn't get much worse. Plus, embargos and points deductions aren't a good look.

Football is about taking a few (calculated) gambles here and there I guess. If the new owners want to have a tilt at it then fine by me.
