Im sure I read somewhere that just to flatten the site on the Kop will cost millions and that before we start building.
Some have said that by building a proper stand we can have loads of restaurants and conference facilities however let's not forget we already have restaurants and conference facilities on 2 sides of the ground already. There's a limited demand for business facilities in Sheffield so no point in paying a load of money for something that will rarely be used.
The Kop was always supposedly a temporary situation when the present roof was put on.
SUFC know they need to remove the pillars, put on a new roof and upgrade the poor concourse facilities.
Business logic says you consider cost and the chances of recouping your investment short term and long term.
It was only last season we sold out all the home tickets against Spurs. We sold out most games (apart from restricted view) many times in the PL.
So just an extra 2 or 3,000 home tickets is a realistic requirement.
Besides with ott segregation our current capacity is 30,500 (tickets sold versus Spurs last year) not the official 32,700. So with an extra 3,500 seats our practical capacity would be 34,000, which is more realistic for a club our size.
We have loads of land on the Shoreham plot doing nothing so may as well build student flats etc and at the same time build the biggest Kop in British football.
Our Kop (when full) already has a good reputation in the media, imagine the site and noise with another 3,500 on it. Surely it can only be a positive.
