Kop redevelopment back on?

It's more beneficial to flatten it and rebuild completely whilst in this league. The season ticket holders can go on bramall lane upper/Westfield corner and put away fans on the lower. Do it as a championship club it'll be a struggle to accommodate everyone!

I was invited to a wedding a couple of years ago. I was about to decline and give my apologies on the RSVP form. Then I saw the venue was one of the SUFC function rooms on John Street and I changed my mind :).

Never had any problem with seeing the players on the pitch at the Lane, maybe against Cardiff back in the day, but there was a fair crowd that night;)
Isn't that because last time you went to the Lane it was still standing only?

;)

its a better idea to flatten it and clear the hill and utilise the vast space we are missing out on under a new stand
and imagine the bars we could fit in alone , all that beer

Spot on.

This is what we should do. The current plans just extend Reg Breaerley's 1991 bodge job a few rows and puts a new roof on it.

A lot of rubbishy being said about the kop as it is. It's not the best for leg room and it's not the best for the rake of the stand. But it's not the worst by a long way either. When the extra seats are added it will be one impressive sight.

Money no object and unlimited restrictions on height and footprint? Sure knock the lot down and build a right stand. In fact why not just start again and rebuild the entire ground?

Unfortunately we don't have that luxury.

This is the real world and when this is completed we will have a stadium the envy of all but the very top clubs in this country.

There's no place for common sense and pragmatism round here Fatty

its logistically better to remove the mound the kops om
we are missing out on thousands of square footage space we can earn from
its purely good financial sense

Where are those calculations from?

That mound doesn't just disappear, and the kiosks don't build themselves. It all needs paying for by 25 distinct hourly opportunities in a whole year.

Fill it with a combination of student flats, a casino and a knocking shop.

It's amazing what can be done when a billion pounds of taxpayers money is spunked on a project to be used by the nation.:)

I reckon you are talking about adding more than £10 million quid to the project, in order to sell a few more pints and pies 25 times a year.

Comparisons with Wemblwy are absolutely irrelevant.

If one of the motivations to expanding the capacity is to make it a viable venue for future tournaments (which we know it is given our interest in the World Cup bid), there is some logic in improving the overall facilities at the same time.

Im talking long term investment , lets not do it on the cheap like we did with the last attempt on the kop roof , the last jobs an abortio lets get some return on our investment

lets not go down the bob the builder route
lets make some money

I never saw the logic in the WC bid. It was a vanity project. If the enterprise center and flats help pay for kop redevelopment them I'm all for it. But I wouldn't be squandering money on side projects that don't pay for themselves.

That's the point, it won't make money. We spent fuck all on the kop and have filled it with 10000 people ever since, plus sold a few pies and pints. We could have spent 20 million, it would still have been filled with 10000 people and a few pie sales. And resulted in lots of extra player sales.

I just don't see the business case, unless the existing banqueting / conference facilities are booked up, which they aren't.

well thats like saying why have man utd upped to 73000 and Arsenal to 60000
and why has milton keynes built a 30000 seater stadium

we can be an old static third world club or get our infra structure ready for better days ahead

we sold out in the prem, imagine if wed had 40k seats we might have bought the player who scored the one goal that cost us our place

think small and cheap ,,, stay small and cheap

And if we get back to the prem then the an extra 10k seats will mean precisely fuck all in comparison to the TV money

Just imagine if this was another club, and God forbid wendies having plans drawn up

to improve there shit hole some of the moaning gits would be attacking our club for

lack of ambition and having a go at mccabe/the Prince for not spending out, these people

really are sad, moaning bastards who can only find

Could do with a greggs and a couple of pound shops to hoover up the local competitors

In an ideal world they steeping the banking and stick some rail seats in, can't see it happening with Sheffield Shitthemselves Council being a hurdle though.

Really? What makes you say that..?

The other point is that BDTBL is not short of space to build such facilities in. Why dig out a hill when you can build behind and around it?

Oh deary deary me, so we may be in the 4th Division in the next few years but at least all us dozy twats still in attendance will have 4 seats each:rolleyes:
