Come on, be honest, he's not really been very good has he!?
We've been poor a t LCB since JOC got injured, and we've never adequately replaced him, it's the United way.

I thought we had already turned down £5m?
We probably did. But hinted £5.1mill would seal it, cos to be honest he is not steady enough to be a top class Championship defender.

£5 million for a left footed centre back who is

-Tall
-Strong
-Fast
-Half decent on the ball

Maybe the Celtic scouts know more than Dave off the forum who thinks Jack Robinson is the second coming of Pablo maldini

£5 Million is nowt nowadays

Bad move to sell him if he carries on like he did at Norwich he's our starting LCB

Except he’s not notably strong, not notably fast, is not even close to “half decent” on the ball, is deficient on his right foot, backs half a yard too far off his man as a default instinctive response, reads the game poorly, can be positionally dodgy as a result, is relatively poor in the air, and looks permanently in a flap.

5 (or 6) million is a outrageously good business for us, if that is the actual price they’re paying.

I wouldn't say he's fast. He's tall but not commanding in the air. He's not aggressive either, not that you've said that he is.

That's not to say he's not a reasonable championship defender but in my view he doesn't excel at any attribute. He's reasonable at all or most areas but not strong enough to be anything that would concern me if he left.

It's getting a bit tedious having to keep calling out these stupid comments. 'The United Way?' Which clubs would have been able to adequately replace a player like JOC?

Has our recruitment this summer not been incredible given we've lost half a squad, had a takeover rumbling on and most of our targets been courted by Leeds yet somehow we've still got a half decent team in my opinion. This constant making our that everything is shite and always will be gets a bit boring, don't you think?

Celtic eye Trusty move

Latest from Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph and Tim Thornton:
Celtic are close to agreeing a deal with Sheffield Utd for defender Auston Trusty.
It's understood the figure being discussed could be as much as £6m - but some details are yet to be finalised between the clubs.

Only if you take it as "everything is shite", which it doesn't say anywhere, and neither have I said that!

Our recruitment has been decent mostly, although we are still lacking in several areas of the pitch, and that shows, like it did v Barnsley, did you think that was a good performance??
Good starting 11?

And however "tedious" you may find it to "have too", which you don't "have too" at all, you choose too, reply to people's comments, and/or opinions, which we all are allowed to have, you could just as easily, probably more so, just carry on past the post, to the next??

But not enough of it, seem to be focusing on getting rid and trying to stop players leaving
Exactly, we need players in several areas, and now the takeover is complete, all barring the media duties and official announcements....
Let's hope they're willing to chuck a few quid in the pot and get 2/3 in.

If we don’t replace trusty I presume they’re looking at it as

RB: Gilchrist, Shackleton, Seriki
CB: Gilchrist, Anel, Souttar, Robbo, RND
LB: McCallum Burrows RND

Id still prefer to see Trusty replaced because if we’re looking for left & right footed balance I’m not sure Robbo/ RND are good enough in a back 4

He'll be a good signing for Celtic because he won't have any actual defending to do

This could be a problem for United because he will be so impressive doing practically nothing that a Premier League club will give Celtic £30 million for him............it'd be funny if it was Arsenal.

None of those CBs are good enough for a promotion team

Celtic mate thinks CCV is world class.

Agree. Has RND ever played CB in a back four?
Edit: prior to the Barnsley match.

Defo need a LCB, we also NEED, a RB, LW, ST, at a minimum.
We can't rely on our current players at the moment.

Cannon would be a fantastic signing, and I've heard that deal is agreed??

But, otherwise not too bad? 🤣

Say what you think and feel

Fk those who don’t like it

Leaves us short in defence.

On the contrary to the majority, I felt comfortable with Trusty stepping in when required.
Leaving ourselves with a lot to do by letting him out. Zero guarantees that RND can do the job if needed this season. And he looked way off it (as you'd expect) in the week.
