I hate to be negative but I don’t believe Marsh will ever be able to make the step up to our level in the Championship.

He’s 21/22 now, if he was that good he’d be in the squad by now. Look at what Ndiaye, Morgan Gibbs-White and McAtee were doing for us when they were 21 years old. It’s a whole different level, Marsh will never make the step up because I believe he would have already done it by now.

Same for Maguire and Walker back in the day, if you are good enough and actually have potential you’ll get game time in the first team. Marsh is not that.

Same to 99% of the youngsters we have. That’s just my take on it, you don’t have to agree.

The only bit of leeway I have on it is that Seriki was a bit of a slow burner and now he’s showing signs of Premier League quality but even still I don’t know what to think.

what do you mean by this? Seriki is the most obvious 'future premier league regular' I've seen for a while.

Ndiaye started playing at 21.

Femi seriki had less first team appearances at 21 than marsh has.

Next season’s attack should already be in the sights - Bamford, Cannon, One, Marsh, O’Hare (if we play a 10) and one more, can be Campbell if he pulls his finger out.

No need to go all daft on money and wages spend.

If Marsh isn't featuring in our match day squads and has no chance of getting a game or Wilder is against him why are we holding on to him, get him sold and move on, sick of this club hanging on to no hopers and injured players, get rid

Because he has potential to be our best academy product yet In my opinion
He has real natural ability just needs to develop everything else

I was on the same page as you up until watching Seriki this season. Some players physical development progresses at different rates. He clearly has the footballing ability, he has to break through next season.

Femi is 23 in 6 weeks and just broken through. And strikers are typically late developers.

He should've definitely been given a chance when we were struggling to create chances and score goals. When we were playing 2 10's that would've been his ideal situation next to O'Hare behind a striker.

There is no harm in hanging onto him and seeing how he develops. Going back 18 months, I think his name was probably one of the most highly spoken about. He seems to be popular (think he had good feedback on his time at fleetwood?).

He might not make it, but lets give him every opportunity to try (this loan seems like a really positive move for him).

Would hate for us to get rid too soon and he ends up doing well with someone else.

Love our academy players, even those that leave, its nice to keep an eye on them.

You cant judge every player by age alone Ndiaye was 21 for we even picked him up,I imagine in his youth years he got bullied out of it a lot with him being lightweight he learned to live with it and became a great player.
Not saying Marshie is as good as him but he has real skills and has suffered due to his lack of physical presence he is a big lad now at least 5ft 10in and getting stronger too . Wilder knows how good he could be and a I don't thing he's out on loan to get rid.
Remember David Brooks City bailed him out cus he was small and weak.We saw something there ! The rest is history..
Falkirk is ideal for Marsh to get some experience small club with a
Real close fit( small squad).Scottish prem is on a similar level to the chamoionship.
He's made a good impact so far I expect him to get better and better .

There is a real prospect that we will be without Sydie next season plus Blaster 12 months later when he has proved his fitness after his bad injury.

In these scenarios, Marsh & Blacker come into future plans..

To be fair to Femi, I think with him its been niggling fitness issues that have stifled him a bit not that he isn't able to make the grade at this level. He seems to be finally overcoming whatever those issues are or were and we are seeing the best of him especially playing with Brooks.

Nonsense. Players develop at different rates. Very few strikers are the finished article at Marsh’s age. Maguire and Walker were top end PL quality so a ridiculous comparison. Harry Kane didn’t break through at Spurs until he was Marsh’s age.

I take your point on Maguire and Walker mate, but you are wide of the mark on Kane. He was showing great promise as a youngster .... banging goals in for Orient at 17 in L1, then at 18 for Millwall in Champ - and in between he played regularly in Spurs Europa League games. After a couple more Champ loan moves (Norwich and Leicester) he fully cemented in Spurs place at just turned 20.

I suppose what this does show though is the value of going out on loan. Particularly when outside your comfort zone. Hopefully Marsh (like Blaster for example did too) comes back a much better player for the experience.

Feel like going on a Harry Redknapp Scotty Canham rant.
