It depends on the questions "why"? and "who for"?

We've gone into WW3 with a water pistol, blindfolded. If people want me to blame the manager for that, I'm not having it. He has a losing hand that he's losing with. Results and league position are what I expected them to be. The board accepted that in July.

If the "why" doesn't revolbe around this year's results and is focused on our Hecky era injury record, our recruitment, and some tactical issues with Hecky, I'd be more sympathetic to change. That the football club "has a strategy that he doesn't fit into". From what I can gather from Wilder's demise through to Hecky, all but the tactical side isn't the manager's responsibility (or at least sole responsibility) so maybe it's other employees of the football club that need moving on rather than Hecky?

They blamed Wilder for the Prem recruitment last time (despite the transfer committee), who are they blaming now? It needs ripping out and starting again. They've sourced two successful permanent signings in six transfer windows, albeit the juries still out on some of them. That's suicide with a sell to buy model. The signings are largely people me and you could source - Championship players and Premier League youth players. These issues appear to be above Hecky.

I’m not sure we can blame Wilder PL recruitment.

He wanted some players who turned out to be very very good and worth 5x the cost. We wanted Watkins and got someone else. It was a pattern.

Wilder identified best championship players that was his idea. We just didn’t implement it well.

It's arguable who takes what blame. It was the board that span it all onto Wilder; an argument I've never bought due to the high profile misses you've highlighted, and the transfer committee that voted on acquisitions and shared collective responsibility.

For me there's two permanents we've signed in 4.5 seasons we've made or would make money on: Ramsdale and Anel. We've maybe been unlucky with Bogle (looked promising before the injuries). Trusty looks a possible. That's a terrible hit rate that is unsustainable for a club with a "sell to buy" model. I'd go as far to say it's much more important to improve our transfer hit rate than our manager.

What other manager would be stupid enough to play Archer as a lone striker and hoof the ball up to him ?
Archer is a shit £18m signing if you expect him to lead the line in the air.
Almost every one of our summer signings looks like a failure and that's either coz they were a waste of money in the first place or are being wrongly deployed by an incompetent manager.
Hecky is literally wasting £big money by his recruitment and/or use of Archer , Hamer , Souza , Traore and £smaller money on Slimane , Larouci , Davies , Thomas and others.
The only summer recruits to have a decent impact have been McAtee & Trusty and it took a while for Trusty to get a game.
That's an unacceptable return on £55m.
Club is run by incompetents with no real accountability to the absent board & owner.
It's like watching a feckin car accident in slow motion.
Goes to show you can't live in Saudi or California and expect success when you aren't in touch with your clubs in UK Belgium & France.
Or do we think Bettis is the guy to have lined up the replacement we now need for Hecky ?
There is no one in authority with enough football knowledge.
Rudderless ship.
ST holder & supporter since 1968 , I can hardly bear to witness the way we have pissed away both our recent PL promotions.
Whilst clubs like Brentford , Bournemouth & Brighton prosper.

We were pathetic today.

Foderingham at fault for the second.

Anel falling asleep at the back stick for the third.

We didn't deserve anything but at 0-1 we could have found something in that second half. We could have turned it into a Wolves second half performance
Sadly that wasn’t even a Wolves first half performance

Watkins is worth £150m according to that maths. Matty Cash £90m

Wanting players you can't afford and not finding alternatives is a complete waste of time.

We kept Wilder too long during 2nd prem season. Hecky has to go now if we’re to have any chance.
I would bring Warnock in short term. He kept Huddersfield up when they looked doomed. Different league but same job.

If he’s gonna go, gotta be before Burnley.

Liverpool A
Brentford H
Chelsea A
Villa A

The proverbial new manager bounce does fuck all in those.

There is a summer of ill preparation, which contributes. However PH has demonstrated no redeeming qualities to offset that this year.

Lack of cohesion, effort, tactical nous, poor selections, no plan B, weak substitutions. That sits solely with PH.

It’s time for me. Roll the dice.

Will it be better - who knows? Can it be worse, absolutely not.

After being a big advocate for Hecky keeping his job, at least till the end of the season…I now realise stupid that sounds. Sorry folks, but after that performance, I’m now fully open to a Sam Allardyce figure coming in…

Weird, weird game.

Probably the toughest watch of the season. We just looked totally ambivalent and nothing we did seemed to indicate that we gave a shit. To go about a game of that magnitude in that manner is inexcusable. Bournemouth won't get an easier three points this season.

I had a dash of optimism about today due to the last two results. That didn't last long.

Keep Hecky. There's not a man alive who could keep this lot up. If you can't get up for a game like today's as a player then I don't really know what to say. Nobody had a good game today. Nobody looked arsed. I don't think that's the manager's fault.

If we're keeping Hecky, could you tell me what our playstyle is please?

Watkins was £18m and Robinson was £1.5m

We spent more money that season. You cannot have ago at someone’s recruitment when you find players in budget. That then turn out to be excellent players.

I remember on here we would be interested in a player and Villa would copy our recetuimwnt.

Now people are saying our recrtuiment is bad and Villas is amazing. Both cannot be true.

£18m? Are you high?

Everything else you say is irrelevant now. You've ignored Cash, made up a fee for Watkins and ignored we'd have had to make Robinson our highest earner to match Fulham

He had a release clause for £18m if you remember correctly.

Cash I agree with your point. I unlike you will take your points into consideration. I was meaning more in general but I then give you 2 players.

Robinson is mooted to be on Manchester City Radar. Matty Cash was close to a move to Athletico Madrid.

Even last season Wilder was rumoured to be in for Gyokeres who now will play for a top European side. The man has a great eye he just needs his targets.

You remember incorrectly to a hilarious amount.

Are you claiming being able to see Gyokeres is good at football as a "great eye"? Seriously.

Look you hate Wilder it’s fine your allowed an opinion. Even though your opinion has been incorrect for a long time now your still entitled too it.

But i have explained my argument it’s water tight with examples. This conversation between us is finished. I look forward to the next one.

Why do I hate Wilder because I have a realistic opinion of his abilities?

You're so, so bad at this. "You disagree with my made up points so I win the argument. Haha, I am champion again"

Apologies you must not have read the last part of my reply. Unless something different comes up from yourself I wish you a good day.

We are in effect 7 points off being out of the bottom 3. With goal difference it's actually 8.
After 13 games that's shocking.

I'm ignoring Everton's point deduction as that could well end up being appealed.

I like hecky and I do think he's been given a bad hand by the prince who is the real villain to be honest in the prep for this season.

But I can't help but think hecky is not making the best out of the bad situation at all. Yesterdays line up.... Why when there was options not to play archer up top alone?

We are Sheffield United we do not roll over even if we are playing poorly. There is fight, press and everything else. That's what can keep you in games.

There isn't much of that this season at all. And that alone is reason to think about change.

No worries. I'm off to the cinema. Getting the Bladezz pricing. Listed as £10 to get in but I'll only pay 50p

Okay you win I will reply.

£25k a week 1.5m fee for Robinson.

But don’t worry you’ll ignore all points 😂

Hecky out yes or no.
Like many others,up untill yesterdays pathetic performance,I had defended Hecky but it’s time he went,I can forgive losing to a better side but the way we did it is just unacceptable. Our tactics were sickening.
I let out a spontaneous boo at half time, the first one in 30 years.
Don’t care who comes in,Even Montgomery and Sharp till the end of the season might give us back some fight.Nowt to lose now.

Now paste all the ones with Watkins fee being £28m rising to £33m and we can discuss it.

Also, paste every article in FI about "failed deals". It's a click bait site.

But of course, when you're arguing made up stuff, you can't use proper sources 🤷‍♂️
