The problem with Akpom is that if we go down he'll be almost 29 when a ball is kicked in the Championship. It's very unlikely we'll make money on a 28 going on 29 year old. 15 million would be ridiculous. Surely in the whole of world football there has to be better options. Maybe that lad is one

He ticks a load of boxes and on a 5 year deal, at that age, makes a lot of sense.

Can’t imagine he’s earning £12.5m in the next 5 yrs at Stuttgart so £50k pw aught to be enough.

Better option than Akpom I strongly believe.

We need a marquee signing at the top of the pitch to keep our current #9 as far away from the starting XI as is possible. IMHO.

I think Palmer or McAtee are problem already on our potential loan list already to come in as well as Akpom. But I see where you are coming from.

It's my bad - they're both 27 . Akpom's birthday is in October whereas SG's is in March. Too old for my liking. If a decent takeover happened I wouldn't be as worried tbh.
