Agreed. McBurnie is something unique in our squad. He's a tall nasty bastard that defenders hate to play against. He's a threat in the air and wins nearly all the oppostion corners thrown into to us. We need him in and around the 1st team. Our other strikers have different attributes such as pace and stamina.

We need Mcburnie until another similar improved version arrives.

McBurnie hasn't been as good as everyone probably wished but don't get why people knock him so much. He helped us get promoted last season as much as anyone else did.

Some people just have a dislike for people and don't see what they bring to the table.

Last season McBurnie scored 13 League Goals
Of those goals, 4 of them won us 6 points:

Luton (a) 1-1
Birmingham (h) 1-1
Norwich (h) 2-2
Birmingham (a) 1-2

He also scored in the FA Cup v Wrexham (a) - 3-3 and Blackburn at home - 3-2, so helped us massively on the cup run.

But ignore all that, he's crap!

Before McAtee and Doyle had even got going McBurnie was the major reason we were in the top 2. Pre world cup where he had a hernia he was absolutely the best striker in the league. Shame he did his ankle in the last game before world cup break which really ended that run.

I’m flabbergasted by the negative reaction to this one.

Always thought he looked a good player, just didn’t pull it all together.

He’s quick, fast, good in the air and he scored 29 bastard goals last season!!!

We spent the same as this on Callum Robinson, the nesh-est, thick as mince pillock I’ve ever seen pull on a United shirt (in the prem anyway).

It’d be a cracking signing for the fee reported, even if he’s only half as productive… or even a quarter for that matter.

My only worry about this signing is that we’ve signed some of the best strikers in the championship (at the time of signing) In brewster, mcburnie and even robinson at the time and I’d say they all failed because of the lack of creativity in the side. The only exception is mcburnie last season and that’s because Ndiaye was creating chances as well as mcatte being more attacking. Akpom will just be another one to add to that list if we don’t add any creativity

No because this player can play numerous positions at the top of the pitch, PAOK won a surprise league title over the usual suspects there with him starting and he scored the winner in the cup final for them too
