We will see movement on akpom in the next week, Boro wanted £15m+ but the fee is going to be half that.

Cameron archer is a little more difficult, villa are currently pricing us out of a move and we want a loan with a buy option. Villa currently want £20m. This could go down to the wire.
Akpom no no no

So Rifleman have i got this right..

Archer - too expensive ❌
Akpom - Offered too little in wages ❌
Souza - Relegation wage reduction too big ❌

Palmer - ❓
Tillman - ❓
O'Brien - ❓
Doyle - ❓

Can I come back yet? 😬.

Sorry that all changed quickly, I was so sure it was done.

For what it's worth can I redeem myself;

As some guessed that was Chuba. The 2.9 lyric was in reference to the Video he did with Sharp narrating. Glad I never saw it mind. 😓🚀

Mgw vibes - us knicking our maim rivals best player from the season just gone. 19/20 - signing the best from the Champ strategy.

Well you got our hopes up, only for our hearts to be broken, but cest la vie ;)
Is it true the Marseille president told Illy it was "now or never" and that is what changed his mind? Not that it matters now.

Now or never Chuba, Axel a Cole….. That should do it

Leeds seem to have relegation release clauses for alot of players they signed in the prem.

The difference is their release fee is almost identical to the price they signed them for.
They have been letting players go for peanuts

Recent quote from Akpom in media regarding his knee injury suffered in the PO final end of May
“I am back on the grass but I am not putting a timeframe on being available to play”
(my précis)
We would be utterly crazy to sign a player who is still suffering from a knee injury 2 months later - just plain dumb
Don’t we already have enough crocks ?
(my opinion)

“When he’s fit”
He played 40 games last season, think he played 38 the season before. He's returning to full fitness. If he passes a fitness test then he should be good to go. He got injured in the last match v Coventry in the play offs but he's on the grass again as they say.

Akpom on fitness:

"I picked up the injury against Coventry, last game, came back and then did something again. It’s nothing major though and I’m slowly getting there. I’m back on the grass and running and doing individual ball work, so it’s good progress.

Beat me to it! I think he may have had some injuries in his career before but not sure, but last season and the one before he's played full seasons and David McGoldrick had an injury hit 3-4 years before he came to us at 30, that turned out ok!?

If it was amateur football when you're back on the grass you'd be playing football, but at this level they're ultra cautious because of the money involved etc and sports science but if he's running on the grass then he won't be far off I wouldn't imagine. I can't imagine we'd sign someone who couldn't play for a month or so.

😄. I wasn't really privy to any of that. With hindsight it looks like Ndiaye's dads Instagram post and reports of Marseille officials visiting Ndiaye in Portugal (might have been online) was the turning point. But when you've done a video, chosen number 10 etc etc and still play in the friendlies my connections were always confident it was just a matter of time and the release clause just needed a possible tweak. It was that close.

Anyway, excited for these new signings. If Ndiaye alone would have got us 10-15pts, then his money received may get us 2 shiny new signings and raise the standard of the other players we are also after. Then that could also be worth 10-15 pts. Spread the insurance around as well (instead of 1 injury to Ndiaye rocking our season). + AFCON we were possibly down 5 pts over 5 games in theory. It all adds up.

Didzy was free so virtually no financial risk.
They want $10m for a crocked player in the last year of his contract - not far short of what we got for Ndiaye

I'm not 100% sold on Akpom despite his incredible goal return last season. But we certainly won't get any better for under £10m if the fee is to be believed.

Akpom doesn’t want to come
Akpom x Traore would work for me. Akpom x our other strikers would also work. His injury puts me rate off tho. All depends if he is fit for Palace. The week after isn't good enough. Needs signing this week or next and be fully fit for at least the bench versus Palace. 8 million is fine. Domestic tax.

Boro would need to get promoted or Akpom would need another 15+ goal season or this is probably his last best chance to play in the Premier League again.

My other issue with Akpom is age as many have mentioned. If Akpom is replacing Ndiaye who could have been worth 40m if he stayed and signed the contract then we want to find 2 players we can look to value at double their original amount in a years time (Premier League tax). Obviously the Premier League money if we stay another year makes that less important.

Maybe be if we did an equivalent of Marseilles on Ndiaye and did a Yorkshire Love Bombing. Eh up Chuba, get yer sen darn ’t Lane lad.

I think it's well documented he was staying then a last min U turn made you look foolish 🙂
I think even Hecky posting on here would have got it wrong
Welcome back RM

I really don’t get the Akpom signing it goes against absolutely everything they’ve done and said this window it’s madness
