Cameron Archer - Quite an achievement

Not sure why he’s rearranging deck chairs on the titanic by bringing on a player who won’t be here in place of one that will
Or replacing a forward with a DM 3-1 down

Strange.

Easy. Stop them getting injured.

🤣

He’d do very well in the Championship, have a guess which league we’re in next season? We’ve dealt with a lot of players through transfer activity, playing in games or through injuries really poorly this year there’s no wonder they don’t want to be here, our club couldn’t run a bath at the moment.

At some point we have to start asking why we sign these players that have looked decent elsewhere, then come here and are awful?
Since when has Grbic looked decent anywhere?
Our recruitment strategy is much worse than that.We sign players who were shit at their previous clubs and can’t understand why they are shit for us!

Bad take this. Strikers can miss chances. Especially those with bad runs. Not his biggest fan but still not even our worst striker signing this year.

grbic is crap and laruoucu hardly gets a sniff with both RND and lowe injured
I like Archer, he's done a job this season more for the team than himself. He's struggled with form and fitness and at times has had to play a role which isn't his game.

Saturday was a prime example. He was playing alongside Diaz, the taller player, but Archer was often the target man and it didn't really work, but he still got chances, just couldn't take them.

We perhaps needed Osula up top for a bit more of a presence in the air and then to play one of Diaz or Archer off him, before bringing McAtee on for Osula to create an attacking 3.

Like many games this season, we've not lost the game on Saturday because of the strikers, but because we concede goals too easily.

If there was an option to have Archer back, i'd take it, but we need to tie down a target man that can stay fit.

I'd expect that if we don't keep McBurnie, we will sign an experienced target man to play the last 20-30 in games and rely on Osula. But we also need a striker to play off the target man, like McAtee, Archer or Diaz. Perhaps Archer is the most likely to return if we can do a deal

thing archer has lacked is a regular partner up front it probably wont happen but i would have archer back next season big gulf between coming up against international defenders every week and championship defenders he would get 25 goals given the right service

Why is archer on the pitch is the question?

And the alternative is?

Osula has hardly set the world alight, although he could come good in the Championship. Brewster has hamstrings made out of straw and Oli Mac can hardly stay fit for 3 games in a row....

And besides that, even when we do have attacking options the clueless dinosaur will put on either Norwood or Souza anyway....

He will score in the Championship against poorer defenders with good service , done it at Boro & Preston previously . Reports today saying that Villa will activate the buy back clause & then sell him straight on . What did we pay for him £18M with £9M buy back clause ?? If they are the figures that’s one expensive ’loan’ signing ?

I can't imagine even we are stupid enough to agree to those figures

What a shite deal all round it seems like prem teams see us coming and we are gullible enough to lap it up. See Brewster deal also

agree - what I dont agree with is the 'clueless dinosaurs' approach to players out of contract.

took the moral high ground when benching Wes which is fine.

selects best available players irrespective of contract situation which is also fine

but flipflopping between the 2 to suit is a hypocritical

personally he should play the best team possible, as I honestly think with Wes constant in goal we could have made 19th which is £2m - a loan fee for next season

« Not only but also » Which TV programme was that and when ?
😂 I think of one of those sketches often at work when some helpful soul creates another irritating acronym to help remember some inane bollocks that nobody really cares about.

He hasn't exactly set the world alight but he definitely wins the Sheffield United goal of the season for me.

Doesn't matter who is in Goal with Wes we would still have lost and maybe would be -4 or -5 less than we are now -and your reasoning is that in the three games since he came back in he's conceded 5 4 3 =12 goals
which is more than the keeper he replaced in any three game sequence he played .It is also the third time this season that Wes has conceded 12 and above in a 3 game sequence

Can't believe all the hate he gets from some of our fans he was wasted in the shower of sh*t team that we had that season where we were doomed to failure.

I would take him back at the lane in a heartbeat.
Absolutely. Cracking player, would prefer him to go to Boro

He’s a quality player. Bottom end prem/top end championship is his level.

The type of signing that has longevity as well. Good link up, cracking shot, and can run with the ball.

He’s proven he can score goals at Championship level after his loans at Preston & Boro in the right team …in last seasons shit show I felt sorry for anyone who played up top for us with absolutely no supply … my only criticism was that in some games he just didn’t look like he could be arsed
