Surely worth a punt?

Two of Akpom, Gyokores and Stewart will remain Championship players. We are hopefully putting the feelers out on all of them.

Akpom is too expensive for one good season imo. I'd be more inclined to look at who gave him the service this year to suddenly become a prolific scorer like Ryan Giles with 11 assists from LB. Stewart and Morris would be two relatively cheap options. I'd try a trade with Swansea with Piroe and manning for Brewster +cash.

First of all, get the title changed. It is disrespectful. It should at the very least read 'The Great Chuba Akpom' if not 'Benzema'

Him and Ndiaye behind a CF would be unbelievable and would keep us up. We'd have to throw a lot of money at him though..... but I do hope we're open to the odd spend like that because it could be the difference

Piroe would be a good one to pick up with an eye on relegation. Sounds bad that doesn't it, but it's a genuine point. Lot of players we could get like this and it's a good idea IMO

That's the way I'm thinking about it. If we don't have the money to have a real go next season make some better deals to ensure we have a competitive squad back in the championship. It's negative but I think a smart strategy for the club. Bonus points if we have the players to change formation too and not too rigid like last time.

Not negative thinking at all.

Expect the best but prepare for the worst.

In this instance the worst case scenario is relegation. We need to picture what we want our squad to look like if we end up back in the championship.

Linked to Palace, has ever been a more Palace type signing than Akpom?

Not for me, Cameron Archer a big fat yes...

One season wonder. Id wager he gets about 5 next season when BurrahLyke are still in't championship.

Amazing to me how people want to bring in a young forward with about 50 league games, a handful of which were in the Premier League, and he's going to be a difference maker, yet we have a younger player who has played about 50 league games, a handful of which were in the Premier League, and some people are bricking it if we ever needed to use him because "zomg no experience"

Archer - 17 in 39 Championship appearances over 2 loans, (Preston and Boro)
Jebbo - 1 in 16 Championship appearances

Not knocking Jebbo at all but I would say that Archer is further along in his progression.

Personally I think a season in the Championship on loan would benefit Jebbo massively, same with Osula if we can bring the right players in.

Archer may not be the difference maker but he is certainly a player who we should be looking at given our budget and a loan would be a good option IMO.

Using appearances to make any sort of argument rather than minutes played is obviously hilarious, but I think we can just put this down to you rating Archer much more highly than I do (and vice versa with Jebbo), and me thinking that using one of the two domestic loan spots on someone who may or may not be any good at that level is a horrific waste when we can use our own to do that

Have to say, the best couple of players I saw at Bramall Lane this season were Archer and Akpom.
Was impressed with the physicality and athleticism of both. If Boro don't join us in the PL then I'd hope we'd go for them.
However, I think we'll be shopping in the tier below the most coveted players from our division. I think we'll be looking more at the Carlton Morris, Joel Piroe type level.

How would we fit Akpom, Archer, Ndiaye, McAtee, Doyle and Berge into a starting 11?

-----------Henderson

Walker --- Anel ---- Coady ---- RND

Berge ----- Doyle ----- McAtee

-------------Ndiaye

-------Akpom ----- Archer

It won't ever happen, but can you imagine having those starting? 🤪

i very much doubt jebbo will be going anywhere on loan next season i think hes very much in heckys plans even if its only on the bench as 4th or 5th choice striker but osula needs to go out on loan to a championship side next season as for our 2 premier league loans that we are allowed both have to be first choice starters for us imo but still think we need 2 strikers to come in and 1 of them has to be a regular starter in our first 11

Archer has real pace and acceleration, which we could do with up front next season. He's also a good finisher. I'm not keen on using a Prem loan on a striker, but I'm also not sure how many other pacey strikers would be realistic.

I like the look of these.

Saw a boro fan on Twitter saying they should sell him for £20m while they can get it in case he goes back to being shit. If anyone is stupid enough to pay more than about £8million I'd be shocked.

It's nearly a quarter of a century since £7m got you Carl Cort, why would £8m be so outlandish an amount in 2023?

Because prior to this season he'd scored 31 goals in 10 years. If you'd be happy risking £8m on 1 seasons form then fair enough. He was shite in Greece before that.
