Think this whole summer is a case study in how to disengage a white hot consumer base.

After the success of promotion, then season ticket sales - our marketing dept should have been all over us like a cheap suit with deals for this, offers for that, and milking us and our success for every last drop.

Instead, radio silence....

I tend to agree to be honest.

The mood if we had signed a player even if it was just the expected hendo on loan move, had a teaser of the kit (PL logo on sleeves) then the new sponsor announcement and I think everyone would still be buzzing. All we’ve had to talk about is the court case.

That said - announce a new record signing and, unveil the new kit and the first preseason friendly and I reckon everyone is gonna be fully back on it.

Totally. If we'd released the kit in late May, the queue would still be half way up Cherry Street...

As it is, it'll still break all records, but can't help but think there was more they could have done...
 
Perhaps if you watched the space within the original announcement on the official site forlong enough, the answer reveals itself. Sort of like those paintings that look like a big blob, but after closer inspection, it's a cat sat in a fruit basket.

100% get what your saying, but I cant help but think there's a reason for it.

Maybe they're waiting for the negative court case publicity to die down so they can take full advantage of positive marketing.

Or maybe it’s contingent on the outcome of the court case.

But more likely I think, that the deal was agreed a while before we got officially promoted - these things take a lot of time and effort after all. And now we want a better deal or even a different deal and some one got a bit over zealous and pressed the ‘publish’ button too soon.

Agreed, it doesn’t look like the website of a company that has a few million quid to blow on sponsoring a Premier League club’s shirt.

Maybe that’s the issue, we got close to signing the deal and it turns out they ain’t got a pot to piss in!
