Well there are some detectives on here better than others.
But my tuppeneth....
Its more likely to be a relatively unknown name in the field of their expertise. Firms like HSBC will gain little from a shirt sponsorship when global firms like those sponsor whole competitions, never mind individual competitors.
Besides, most of the folk watching football I’m sure will be aware of those kinds of firms already.
So it has to be a relatively unknown company, perhaps new to this country and looking to break into the market here and the countries where premier league football is a huge audience.
The Asian market in particular is probably the biggest contributor to fans of the biggest 10 clubs worldwide then their home nations! That’s why despite me wishing Ajax were the winner of the champions league for footballing reasons, on a selfish point of view Liverpool and Spurs final will be best for United now we are in the premier league!
The likely outcome is that whoever this new partner is, will be sat in the wings waiting to buy the club IMHO. We could be getting our own Chancer....or an owner similar to those who own these huge corporations in asia.
I may be off the mark completely, but my guess is an Asian bank/finance company, most likely Chinese based given the ties KM has there with a very wealthy major shareholder looking to buy a premier league club.
And of all clubs in that league or about to go up we could be the cheapest to get hold of!
These are exciting times, and those silly piggies will be watching and pretending they aren’t worried but at the moment the reality is that we could be in the Wolves/Leicester bracket for financial support, which blows away a few sales of Tuna. (Anyone else avoid the Chancer brand of products BTW?)
