Don’t mind so long as they fuck Door Deals off.

You are out of order with that.

A small local company back us when we are at our lowest ebb in L1 and you abuse them for putting cash into the club.

Pretty pathetic and if we are starting to get all Big-time-Charlies, we need to give our heads a wobble.

Also, the Vice President of Alibaba Group in North America is Lee McCabe.

CASE. CLOSED.

Shonky knock-off Sheftield United shirts for everyone!!!

If it's sponsorship then what is it gonna be worth to us? £4-5 million at the absolute most? That's absolutely nothing in the Prem.

Well there are some detectives on here better than others.

But my tuppeneth....
Its more likely to be a relatively unknown name in the field of their expertise. Firms like HSBC will gain little from a shirt sponsorship when global firms like those sponsor whole competitions, never mind individual competitors.
Besides, most of the folk watching football I’m sure will be aware of those kinds of firms already.
So it has to be a relatively unknown company, perhaps new to this country and looking to break into the market here and the countries where premier league football is a huge audience.

The Asian market in particular is probably the biggest contributor to fans of the biggest 10 clubs worldwide then their home nations! That’s why despite me wishing Ajax were the winner of the champions league for footballing reasons, on a selfish point of view Liverpool and Spurs final will be best for United now we are in the premier league!

The likely outcome is that whoever this new partner is, will be sat in the wings waiting to buy the club IMHO. We could be getting our own Chancer....or an owner similar to those who own these huge corporations in asia.

I may be off the mark completely, but my guess is an Asian bank/finance company, most likely Chinese based given the ties KM has there with a very wealthy major shareholder looking to buy a premier league club.
And of all clubs in that league or about to go up we could be the cheapest to get hold of!

These are exciting times, and those silly piggies will be watching and pretending they aren’t worried but at the moment the reality is that we could be in the Wolves/Leicester bracket for financial support, which blows away a few sales of Tuna. (Anyone else avoid the Chancer brand of products BTW?)

And besides, the Prince wouldn't have any of it.

If Foxy sees what you wrote there ;)

Not really. That awful logo really put me off buying a shirt this season, I’m sure I’m not on my own with that one. Nothing against the company.

It’s the wages of a top player for a season, so stop talking claptrap.
Did your parents never tell you that you look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves?
For United...new to the premier league with a huge task to secure 38 points next season it’s a HUGE deal.

Watch this space...it’s all part of a bigger picture IMHO

Presumably this deal was negotiated well in advance of our promotion being confirmed and the value of it possibly predicated on said promotion.

I expect we are now dotting ‘i’s And crossing ‘t’s based on our confirmed PL status. Hence the delay in announcing officially.

Think Alipay would be much more likely (although they're all part of the same group of course).

Either way, will be nice if Jack Ma is lined up to invest. Dude has mad papes.

My little brother is over the moon now that he knows the Door Deals logo won't be on the back of our shirt.

Now he's just hoping we have 2 premier League patches instead of a sleeve sponsor.

That and the Lane being in FIFA, big things amongst the younger generation.

Another thought....with KM stating he has a buyer lined up...could this statement be a ploy to put pressure on the Prince?
If this shirt sponsor is the potential new owner, then a LOT hinges on the Prince either walking away with a deal or delaying the process with protracted court actions.

He’s already told us about the owner...now the new shirt sponsor deal...the vast majority of fans want KM to win and the Prince to leave, so if the Prince were to take control and blow those plans away he could be left holding a club with no commercial plan, abuse from the fans and going back down again with WILDER walking away and taking his club with him!
If he’s sensible, he should be looking to recoup the £15m he’s put in, add some profit of £3-5m for his trouble and run!
Sadly I think he’s a little arrogant and won’t want to lose face here

As above, if it is someone like Alipay/Ant Financial and it opens a door to the likes of Jack Ma, then bring it on.

HSBC have a major foothold in the centre of town now. How about one city centre institution sponsoring another city centre institution.???

Based on my last walk around town, these days the major institution seems to be Greggs................

Away kit to be perfect pastry gold and rich beef brown for contractual (steak bake) reasons.

You're talking shit. It's not nothing in the Prem. Hence why, if a top 6 club has a player worth £4m, they will sell them for £4m rather than letting them go for free.

HSBC is a huge global organisation and their Sheffield presence is a mere provincial backwater. No one in Sheffield is senior enough to make that sort of marketing decision on the basis of local affiliation.

Here ends my post for contractual reasons...

:)

I don't get the delay or the announcement.

Why post a bit of backslapping before everything tied up?

Let's see the size of the deal before all the high fiving.

The Premier League has never been richer.

We've been out of it for 12 years.

Getting our most lucrative sponsorship deal ever was pretty unavoidable given the circumstances. It's not a major achievement. The size of it, I hope is.

Let's judge it by how it stacks up vs Burnley's sponsorship, that of Norwich, what the relegated teams got etc. Because the non-football revenue performance was poor given the size of the club and it's support. It was well near the bottom of the Championship if I recall Kieran Maguire, from the Price of Football remarking.

Maybe the delay is because Kev and the prince have reached a deal and hence this deal might change
