I still don't feel like we have enough to go the distance but this season the teams around us seem as liable to drop points out of nowhere as we do. The West Brom game is a chance to show we're the real deal. Do it there and I'm a step closer to believing.

I think the next 2 weeks are season defining - how many points do you think we need to come out of it still in the race for autos?

I think 6.

The form book would suggest we are a good bet to win all 3. If we could beat WBA, I feel like the players will cling onto that promotion spot for the rest of the season.

In our current form ( excluding the 10 mad minutes at Villa ) I see no reason why we can’t take nine points over the next three games.

Bristol City have just overtaken Brentford in the Bladey Cap-Doffing League.

They’re fantastic.

A few weeks ago Hull City were the form team - storming up the league. They've been pegged back in recent weeks. I think the same will happen with Bristol City. Be interesting to see their reaction after yesterday's defeat.

Beat WBA and we get 9 points from those 3 games.

I will be shitting myself closer the time but Rotherham and Wednesday are a shambles.
If they were 2 southern teams we'd expect to steamroll them both.

When West Brom are good I think they are the best team in the league to be honest.

Draw at west brom and then absolutely batter Wednesday before pounding Rotherham.

I agree with 6. 5 wouldn’t be anywhere near enough. That would put us irrevocably out of the race. Personally I’m hoping for 8.

Footnote:
It’s actually 46 games that define a season.
I can see everyone getting 9 points from their 3 games.

I saw something somewhere that calculated bristol having the hardest run to the end of the season and we have the next hardest

I'm losing the will to live with the number of times I've seen 'season defining' since the start of this month.

Can I helpfully suggest, that the 46 games from early August, may well prove to be season defining?
Well what about if a team cannot mathematically make the play offs after 42 games, nor can be relegated?!

Don’t like dissecting small runs of games to make judgements as the next 3 it could be toll reversal .. as said above you only get the full picture after 46 games

Leeds Kemar Roofe will face a period on the sidelines following confirmation that he damaged knee ligaments during the win over Swansea " Oh dear "

Big loss losing their star player.Damaged knee ligaments he will be done for the season. Bamford has also has two separate knee injuries this season ,justice after avoiding a points deduction with a fine for cheating.

If Bristol City can win 9 in a row then that should be the marker we aim for and knowing Chris it will.

2 derbies out of the next 3 games is tough. Although Wednesday are still the poor side they were before Bruce and Rotherham haven’t won an away game all season. West Brom away looks tough but so was Norwich and we got something there so... I’d guess at one win and two draws out the next three. But hope for more!

46 games do of course make up the regular season. However, most people do acknowledge that during a season there are defining periods - the period I have highlighted shows a lot of the top teams having to play each other, so I don't think its crazy to state that this set of fixtures will go along way to determining our fate.

Its certainly a defining period

West Brom will have played three games to our one before March 4th

So losing to them really isn't an option

If we win 9 from last 13 games we’re up. Simple as that.

If we take nine points from WBA, Pigs and Rotherham it will trigger mass hysteria

why is everyone suddenly fearing playing the not so massives
they have to come out of their shell at home
and we can pick off the tortoises when they do

On our day we are a better footballing team than all 3 of our next opponents. But on occasion we have shown a lack of killer instinct and a certain naïveté

WBA, Leeds and Norwich seem to come up with the last minute critical strikes whereas if anything we have snatched a draw or defeat from the jaws of victory all too often.

If we can remedy that over the next couple of weeks then I truly believe we can do it!
