Only on a Saturday night , outside certain nightclubs.Have you tried standing on a box in high heels ? If so why ?
But what does this matter ?Had we stuck with Wilder, we'd have been talking about challenging for top 2 again. Instead, we're talking about patience and maybe aiming for a top 6 finish
Oh they can mate. This is why we're getting all this rubbish about mid-table being brilliant if we're scoring a few more goals. You can’t be saying the target is top two for Wilder but if the owners themselves decided to change, then it’s ok to say top 6.
You have to understand that most sustainable change takes time. Years.Which is exactly what was discussed when there was talk of Wilder leaving.

They must be making a change to make us better or more effective. Otherwise, why make it?
But change is the means to the ends. And we can’t expect everyone else to stand still while we make this supposed revolutionary change. They will also be doing the same. What is the change anyway? So far it’s involved selling the spine of the team that we owned and bringing in loans or cheap guys from Bulgaria. That’s not impressive yet let’s be honest. Maybe they’re not so smart. Maybe as fans of a team we’ve been following for years, we’re actually smarter than them? You have to understand that most sustainable change takes time. Years.
Brentford are a good example.
The only question I would have is - IF Wilder had stayed and got us promoted, the board has backed him, do you think we would have had a better chance at survival than what seems to be a long term goal of developing younger players from across Europe for profit and a sustainable model (like Brighton/Brentford etc)But change is the means to the ends. What I do know is I saw us win 30+ games last season under Wilder. I personally would have not removed him, even if he was far from perfect. I see no reason why he couldn’t have done at least as well having had a season to bed in his new recruits. He had to deal with a lot of change last season.
The goal is the same. Promotion. Next year it will be even harder with less revenue unless these guys are going to dip into their pockets. At the moment the narrative is they have deep pockets and short arms. Hopefully they get us where we need to be by the window closing and they give their manager choice a chance to succeed. We saw with Slav what a waste it is to not support your man.
There’s every chance with the resources tend to have regardless that the ceiling may not be exceeded unless circumstances are exceptional. The only question I would have is - IF Wilder had stayed and got us promoted, the board has backed him, do you think we would have had a better chance at survival than what seems to be a long term goal of developing younger players from across Europe for profit and a sustainable model (like Brighton/Brentford etc)
No-one has the answers, I just feel like Wilder had a ceiling and we needed to try something to push above that.
Although these owners will have to open their wallets at some stage to a certain extent the way many other clubs are increasing club revenue and value is through forward thinking, proactive commercial deals bringing in large sums via sponsorships and investments. See my post earlier in this thread. Our attitude to the commercial side needs a complete overall to cope with the modern way forward. But change is the means to the ends.
